Everything a sleek, modern and romantic Bed & Breakfast should be.
Normally, when we travel we stay at hotel chains like Starwood, IHG, Accor, Intercontinental, Room-Mate, Vienna House, etc. Since it was our first time in Bruges we decided to switch things up, why not combine our WECANDANCE Festival weekend in Belgium with a little R&R in between eventful days at Zeebrugge? Tucked-away in Sint-Gillis Quarter a short distance from historical landmarks (a refuge from tourists) , we stayed at B&B For 2. This sleek remodeled Bed and Breakfast boasts contemporary, modern comfort within walking distance of the Grote Markt.
First impression up on arrival
Bruges (Brugge to locals), the capital of West Flanders is a beautiful medieval city. We expected nothing less when we arrived at the newly remodeled, sleek, modern B&B For 2. The redesign was done beautifully, from the wood floors, large glass doors. The common room was always filled with water, snacks, tea, coffee, and sweets. The common room was cozy, but our . The leather armchairs gleam, the silver mirrors glisten, the bunches of lilies on the marble coffee table are placed just so. In-house designer Olga Polizzi’s striking design touches are everywhere, from cream stone sculptures to scarlet and blue pop art hanging above the marble staircase.
You Say Brugge, I Say Bruges
Beer, canals, cobblestone streets and chocolate. Not in that order. Much like Amsterdam, Brugge is enclosed by canals. The narrow cobblestone streets lead to the best Belgian micro-breweries, the finest Belgian chocolates, and exquisite handmade Belgian lace. From Medieval and Renaissance art and history, this small city is only a 2 hour train ride from Brussels and makes for the perfect weekend escape.
Home Away from Home
Having access to snacks and drinks in the main common room was a plus. This came in handy when we returned quite late from the festival, we especially enjoyed the pitchers of mint and lemon infused water, and found the free bottles of still water convenient to take back to our room. The breakfast spread was always delicious, with various items to choose from. Aside from the fresh squeezed OJ, there’s a cappuccino machine, everything was always fresh. The Russian enjoyed the assortment of breakfast pastries, while I appreciated Didier’s offer to whip up scrambled eggs. Available for purchase snacks and various Belgian beers, wine and alcohol.

Our high-ceiling King Deluxe Room was immaculately cleaned daily. A comfortable bed and bedding ensured we woke up refreshed. Individual closets and sinks was perfect for 2 girls, everything was quite roomy even with four suitcases. The shower and tub came in handy after an exhausting day walking around Zeebrugge. Ample water pressure to support the rainfall shower and the jets. Though an in-room safe was absent this was a non-issue for us. Overall, the in-room seating area, fireplace, working Wi-Fi and A/C, Netflix and a separate water closet made for a wonderful stay.
Thank you Didi and family for your wonderful hospitality!
