#FromTheSidelines: I first posted this in December ‘18. It’s an image of Gator Baseball player Brock Howard during Fall Ball. At that time Brock reposted it to his IG page with a Bible verse which reflected his own personal perspective of life and the sport he loves: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight” ~Proverbs 3:5-6 ~~~~~~~~~~ That trust is now being tested for Brock. I read his latest post which says that after struggling with shoulder injuries for the past two years (the last year in which he tried playing through the pain) he’s made the difficult decision to hang up his spikes for good and focus on finishing up his degree at UF. ~~~~~~~~~~~ When something happens to an athlete out of their control which takes away the opportunity to play the game they love, a game that they’ve dedicated their life to playing, they might find themselves asking “why me?”, or “what do I do now?” It can be hard to find a new purpose and passion in their life. But if the Bible verse Brock chose to caption the photo I took of him is any indication, I think he’ll find his way. I’m so glad I was there to capture this moment for him, playing the game he loves so much, for the team he loves so much. I wish Brock nothing but the best. He’s a 5 tool player outside of baseball, and I look forward to hearing about the great things he’s sure to accomplish away from the diamond with the promising start he’s getting from the University of Florida. #wechomp 🐊 . . . . @brockhoward_ @gatorsbb #baseball #gatorbaseball #collegebaseball #faith #baseballphotography #baseballphotographer #fridayflashback #gator4life @uflorida @scottstricklin @presidentfuchs #capturethemoment #cyndichamberssports #NVRQT 🤙 (at University of Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0a99wpFhN6/?igshid=1jyh711tr5plg
