Repost from @female.in.finance • Follow me👉🏼@female.in.finance for daily personal finance tips! What do you think of this custom rather than giving gifts at a wedding? I will never forget going to my very first wedding in Israel. First of all, it was a rager, and I’ve never seen so much food in my life. I felt like I was at a classy af music festival with any food item I could even dream of and it was hands down still the best wedding I’ve ever been to. Back to the topic: I think it’s interesting how different cultures celebrate big life events such as weddings. I’m not married. And I have zero clue what it takes to create a dream wedding, but I have an idea that in the U.S. it’s stressful and expensive. Stressful not only because of all of the details, but the money. In Israel, we don’t bring gifts for the bride and groom. We write a nice card and put in cash or a check to help pay for the wedding costs. I LIKE THIS. I don’t think I’ll want fancy schmancy silverware, plush towels, lawn ornaments, and a churro machine. I’ll want to have a nice wedding and not be in debt for it OR be out $20k+ Let’s be honest though, the churro machine sounds epic. I will not give financial advice, this is for educational purposes only.
