First Day

My first day of college has finally started after the effect of Hurrican Harvey.

Why I do this thing;

Indie RP Positivity Week: Love Yourself In the tumblr community, it’s no secret that there is a lot of self-deprecation. Let’s fight the negative with something positive! Write a post (under a read more if that makes you more comfortable) talking about why you love to play your character! Why do you do this thing?

Niki was my very first roleplay blog. I made her on valentines day in 2013. Odd that I was making blogs on valentines day now that I think about it. A friend of mine suggested tumblr to me and I was all for it. We’ve since grown apart. I’m not sure why, but I still have tumblr and a few good memories and for that I am thankful.

I’ve always loved anything where the characters have superpowers. I’m a huge nerd and I absolutely hate that superpowers aren’t a real thing. After watching all of Heroes with my manfriend, now fiance, I finally picked Niki to be the character I would make. I am always attracted to characters that are unstable and have a certain dichotomy to them. This stems from the fact that I have bipolar disorder. Thought, this order is completely different from dissociative identity disorider, there is still that element of a dichotomy that I could relate to. 

I have always loved psychology and next month I will finally be starting my full time job as a music therapist in a psychiatric hospital after completing a really long internship in the behavioral health wing of another hospital. I have a certain respect and understanding for individuals living with various diagnoses and have even had a few friends with the same diagnosis as Niki. 

I absolutely love this character. She will always have a special place in my heart. It doesn’t matter if I have one thread or a hundred, this will always be one of my favorite blogs. Niki is a powerful person even if she had a hard time recognizing it. She often feels out of control and unstable which are two more things to which I can relate. She is an amazing mother, despite what Jessica tells her and causes, and one of my biggest fears is motherhood. I feel as if I will be terrible. Niki gives me one more place to process that as well as a few other dark topics that I won’t discuss here. 

Long story short: I love this blog.

So begins the endless stream of tests every week until finals. Can I haz some focus pls? Anywho, this week was much less emotional than the last. I think I was too wrapped up in catching up for all my classes and studying for midterms to care about anything else, which is both good and bad, but.. meh.. working on it.

Did you know that the female version of polygamy is called polyandry and the male version is called polygyny? Now you do. 

I made dinner on Wednesday night and it was really good, but not filling - ME WANTS MEAT. But cooking is fun. 

8tracks > Spotify. At least for this week. My ears have been flooded with much, much good music. 

I am limiting myself to buying one coffee a week. That way, I can avoid relying on it to keep me awake and it saves my mula.

Forgiveness is hard.

Closing Night

What a way to end my Senior Year Musical.

Really awesome Closing Night. That performance was just amazing. Still kinda sad that Reyes didn't record it D: Oh well. As long as the audience remembers how awesome it was, that's all that matters.

I know I'll remember this for a long, long time.
