I do wish people would have more sense and understanding when reading the lore in idv, I find violetta’s new letter eerily beautiful in the bigger picture of her character because I know her character enough to understand what I’m reading. I’m reading the view of a woman who didn’t like her recounting her life from old memories, she’s intended to incite anger. That’s the writers intent not the writers beliefs.

For a character to have hardship we must see those hardships, that’s how writing works, it’s how characters feel real, it’s how you build dimension, writing a disabled character facing ableism is not wrong, it’s needed.

We’ve only heard of how people viewed her, this is our first time seeing how they treat her even in her absence. The vile way they spew her name. The nasty words and titles they assign to her passion. These words, these actions spoken of in past tense, they build Violetta’s fire for success and her strength to endure.

It took two attempts to take Violetta’s life (yes joker is also ableist for that I’ve seen people say he isn’t he is) because she was determined not to die. From a literal sense to her time on stage.

You cannot discount the lore and call the writers names because it’s a topic that makes you uncomfy news flash ALL of idv’s lore is uncomfortable. You need to be mature and logical in how you read when you’re reading a mystery story. You need nuance. And if you can’t take it stop trying.

I’m sick of seeing people talk on a fake moral hill when they are just ignorant to the full context of something. I’m sick of people putting morals against fiction because of intentionally immoral characters written for a purpose and not idolization. Good god.
