We are celebrating DH’s birthday today! I made him a chocolate peanut butter cake. I got up with the kids this morning so he could sleep in (unusual as he generally gets up with them). Then I made waffles from scratch with whipped cream, strawberries, and maple syrup. We took a quick trip to the store to pick up some groceries for the week (I did the bulk of the shopping yesterday), took DD to work, and then I mowed the backyard (the front is still on my list of things to do). He doesn’t know it yet, but I somehow managed to get a sitter for a weekend in October so we can get away. It will be our first overnight alone in more than two years.
