This is the salad I had tonight. I’m not supposed to eat avocado but it’s sooo creamy and delicious so I had a lil. 😝☺️ Did you know 1/7 Americans is experiencing kidney failure? If only a wall could stop this growing epidemic. 😩 I started dialysis in 2017 after my kidneys quickly failed during a vasculitis (Wegeners / ANCA) flare that left me on life support for a week. I have never had trouble getting a job and for a period was a recruiter(job developer). I have my own business (@frommothersgarden) and have since 2009. Working on dialysis is difficult. Inflexible scheduling and difficult treatments can make earning an income difficult and for some almost impossible. I started a group for people on dialysis / people who’ve had a kidney transplant who are enterprising individuals who want to create options for themselves and those around them. Never forget how precious life is. . 3 years ago I was in so much pain, I didn’t know what was wrong and I had no idea that i was fighting for my life. . 3 years on from the fight of my life and I sit back and digest the past and remember how hard it was, how there were so many days I didn’t want to fight anymore and was happy to close my eyes forever but always in the back of my mind I knew there would be a better tomorrow, I knew I could rebuild my health again. . #Wegeners isn’t a well know autoimmune disease and there is still so much we need to learn but for now I have put the beast to bed with my lifestyle, I have achieved so much and done so much as this was the wake up call I needed to help others, to provide a safe place where we can come together and train, laugh and occasionally cry about life. I am so blessed to still be here and even more so to be doing what I love each and every day. .
