Rarely, very rarely, do I manage to photograph a bird of prey up close. For this female kestrel, the sunny spot was so important that she did not let herself be disturbed (November, 21) - until a small bird flew by that had to be chased :-).

Today I had to say goodbye to a friend for almost 8 years. I already miss u so much, my sweet little girl. You were such a fighter; sassy and funny with your messy hair. You helped me go through so much pain and loneliness, I can’t even express how thankful I am for the time we spend together.
I just can hope after all the suffering you’re in a better place now. But I know that we’ll see each other again, darling.
