DCLA QUESTION OF THE WEEK!

Ok... you're allowed to remove ONE character from each show you've seen. It can be a small character you don't think did much for the plot, or a larger character who you either don't want to be there or that you thought would be interesting to explore if they weren't there.

How would the plot change with them gone? WOULD the plot change?

The easy answer with Soy Luna is Eric. His only purpose was being a love interest to Nina. He didn't add much to the show imo. Not much would have changed for the plot. Maybe Nina would try to figure out how to be single and plan for her future, explore options. Maybe she would try to focus on university possibilities.

With Violetta, I have thought about what it would be like if Tomás wasn't there. Like how would Leonetta find their way to each other? I do feel like they could meet while she auditioned for the studio and tried to talk to her and got fascinated with her. I think he would have broken up with Ludmila even if Violetta and Tomás weren't part of the equation. Ludmila and Violetta would maybe fight over León instead of Tomás. Ludmila wouldn't have done it out of love but only because it might have felt like she was stealing him from her. Francesca would obviously have another love interest. There are options for that. She wouldn't fight over León with Violetta though. It would be funny if she liked Braco but he was already in love with Violetta because honestly, Braco didn't have an actual storyline in the show.

With Bia, maybe Luan, Pixie's love interest in season 2. I just can't see her dating guys. She could have been single and maybe become in charge of Fundom and see her struggle with that.

DCLA QUESTION OF THE WEEK!

Let's continue with the pride theme... and let's talk about queer ships!

They're around all months of the year (and I mean I am someone who spend a LOT of time analysing especially some certain wlw ships), but let's talk about them again. The DCLA fandom wouldn't be the same without our non-canon queer ships.

Do you have any certain favorite/s of the queer ships? Any that you feel extra obsessed with?

Is there any queer ship you've seen that you've encountered that surprised you, or that you never considered before? Or possibly a pairing you can get, but aren't really into yourself? Or one you didn't consider until you saw it and then NOW you ship it?

Any underrated ship, or possibly a pairing no one seems to ship but you? x) EVERYONE can be shipped with EVERYONE, so anything is possible <3

Tbh when I comes to ships I like pretty much everything, but there are some who just have my heart. I absolutely adore Ambilia and Luty (but mostly S1 since I feel in s2 forward they dummyfied Naty, but it could be misremembering things as its been YEARS since I watched Violetta.) Also Sitteo has a special place in my heart since it was one of the first queer ships I saw and shipped (I don't like them as much any more, but they still mean a lot to me).

I also really quite like Lunina, JimandYam and DiegoxLeon but not as much as the ships above.

As for rare pairs, tumblr has introduced me to Gasmon, Ramtteo and the ship of Pedro and Simon, which surprised me at first but have grown to liking them. Also I saw the edit of Angie and Jade on tik tok the other day (it was mostly meant as a crackship), but you know what I like it. Finally I once read a fic or Jazmin x Emilia and it could be a rather interesting dynamic if I do say so myself.

Hmm... do you have any "hot takes" on Jim and Yam? >:3

I think my latest hot take is that Jim is wayyyyy gayer than I remembered.

Like in my memory, I saw Yam as having the biggest obvious crush on Jim, and Jim being the boy crazy one, but probably also having unrealized feelings for Yam.

But Jim's "boy craziness" doesn't even make sense half the time! I feel like she doesn't know what she wants and just tries to make things work with Nico because she think she's supposed to. Also how easily she hopped from crushing on Ramiro to Nico. Like her crushes are soooo fleeting. She's way more caught up in the drama and shenanigans of it than the relationship itself. Like as annoying as Nico is, I think he can tell Jim is far too in her head and can't relax and just *be* with him. Meanwhile her love and dedication to Yam is so intense. And we also know she can just *be* with Yam.

And most recently in my watch, the way she just had to tell Yam about Mariano's offer after it happened, meanwhile Ramiro didn't??

Like first time through Yam was the more obvious "queer-coded" character of the pair but now all I see is how closeted Jim acts.
