When I think of Weiss, three defining characteristics come to mind: elegance, strength, and compassion. And all three are clearly reflected in her semblance.
ELEGANCE: Weiss has always been an elegant character to me. And while it used to be centered around pride and entitlement, it shows up in more subtle ways now: in her fighting style, in how she crafts her moves before she makes them, and in the detail of her semblance.

STRENGTH: or, as some would put it, defiance. Despite everything her father and her family wanted her to be, she chose her own path. Instead of being a passive heiress, she chooses to be a warrior. She can fight for and stand up for herself; the effectiveness, power, and sometimes literal size of her semblance supports that.
COMPASSION: As Weiss has matured throughout the series, we’ve seen her grow more and more compassionate. At the same time, her semblance develops, giving her “sidekicks” that she can summon to help her in battle. The thing that fascinates me most about these is that she seems to have a relationship with them. Letting go of her pride and leaning into compassion has not been a weakeness for her; it has only made her stronger.
