Hey!! So stars on ice yesterday, i thoroughly enjoyed the show!! No I wasn't planing on going but I got last minute tickets for very cheap and couldn't pass on it.
So the opening stars off with Kurt and then goes into Sky full of Stars, I really like this number--shiny dresses and fun choreography with weaving and little jumps in tune with music. I love noticing how quick TS's transitions are to lift Tessa and switch to a new lift. They went through introductions in order of years spent with SOI. TS and Scott being 4rd from the end (Joannie,Jeff, and Kurt obviously having more). Everyone had a little fun thing when they were introduced for TS it was Kurt dancing with T and S getting jealous and pushing him away and then they do a little lift spin. I love the way when they wait for their introduce they just share secret smiles its the cutest. I also notice from the intro how happy they looked to be out there and skating. They love their sport, no doubt.
Other numbers happened after that I'm only talking about ones people will wonder about, I liked WP's Romeo/Juliet number but being honest had no idea that's what it was till the end. It was nice and flowly. My mom says "it was nice...they're good enough for now" (aka we see them as good place holders...don't hate me, I'm a diehard VM fan). Duhamel and Radford are amazing! There throws and jumps and lifts are amazing and so strong. Never wavering my Mom gasped a couple of times watching them. Pchiddy always good, looked relaxed but a tad out of shape. Put his hands down on two jumps. But then nailed them in the other corner. Still skated very well and still has his Pchiddy Magic. The all boys number was really fun, had me giggling with the tight pants and but slapping. Scott gets really into it, LIKE REALLY! He plays the 'I'm so sexy role' well for someone who in person is so genuine. He was really into character even my mom giggled and agreed he gets his head and hips into everything he looked better than Jeff who was beside him. Nam Nguyen was a guest performer, he's very good for being so young. He fell really badly in one of his jumps but got back up and nailed the rest of his program.
How Will I Know was just ahhhhhhh. First of all ever skater in their intro chose a older skater that they looked up to and modeled them selves after. TS choose Marie-France Dubreill and Patrice Lauzon--awwwww! And they dedicated their skate to them. It was very romantic and felt private like you were looking into their world. From Skate Niagara it looked very polished. It took my breath away, it was beautiful how they flowed with the music and didn't anticipate it. Pretty sure he kissed her shoulder, lots of hands hair action from both sides. All the love kiss lines had lots of deep intense stares, which are always my fav. One thing my mom mentioned is that Scott kissed her hand when he goes down to his knee--gahhhh! When they finish and Scott skates back to Tessa to bow he picked her up and swinger her around before they did bows it was super sweet because they always make eye contact when they do that spin. The audience was in trance during it very hush, had almost a more intimate Hallelujah feel.
Intermission chat, TS skate out and they talk about Lindt and the Lindt master classes where they promised there will be chocolate and Scott said "We love chocolate, don't we T?" I melted hearing him call her T it's just so damn cute!!! Also when Scott finished his lines and Tessa was still taking Scott took her hand and just stood there while she continued to speak holding her hand. Then they skated off holding her hand. Little coupley moment.
Hip hip chin chin was a fun little number, I agreed that it was really just a long Segway into GK. I liked the little flirty moments and things between TS (I would've liked more). GK was hot as always. It looked much much cleaner than Skate Niagara and they had all the small hits down. Lots of touching and emotion and attraction. I felt that the new lift still looks a little slow like they're being cautious but it's still nice. Carmen lift on point and always sparks audience cheers as does the kiss at the end and when the lights go down everyone whispered excitedly.
The four number with DR and WP was a upbeat jazzy little number. The partner switching was cool but I remember reading in an article that Andrew was going to throw Megan but that didn't happen--likely too scary. The way they did transitions was a little messy, they made a point every time to show they were switching like a high five or something. It would've been better if they just switched and the audience noticed.
Supertram!!! I loved this number; my mom said it was nice but too long. To me it was like a play within the show. I was really interested in the storyline and things. It stars off with everyone getting moving about coming up ideas for ways to fly. So they all demonstrate ways through lifts and throws and things. Scott sits on the side all along an watches while Tessa waits on him--massage, water, coming close so he can whisper in her ear... Wait was that part of it?? Then Scott becomes obsessed with the idea of flight and he get the blue prints for the plane and he skates around and pushes Tessa away when she runs after him. He flirts with another girl and she gets sad then Patrick tried to fight Scott for the plans and they decide to race. So they have this race around the rink and all of them cheer them on and they waver for who's in the lead. Scott takes a nasty spill resulting in Patrick winning. Scott gets angry and goes after Patrick who now has the blue prints they fight over it and it rips. They both blame each other and Scott slaps Patrick. Patrick slaps Scott back. Tessa trying to break it up all the while. Eventually Scott skates away and Tessa skates after him and tries to comfort him. He slaps her and she falls to the ground. I gasped out loud. Scott leaves and Kurt comforts Tessa and tries to tell her to pick herself up. Tessa has a sort of solo section with 3 masked guys and Kurt who I believe to be Andrew, Patrick, and Jeff. So she keeps skating up to these guys and they skate with her at first but then they push her down and let her go or throw her to the next guy. It's all really sad and Tessa performs beautifully. At one part she sees Scott and wants to back to him but Kurt doesn't let her. Eventually Kurt get through to her and she leave the masked men alone and she begins her own dream to fly sparked by a paper airplane with Kurt. She starts building a team of people to fly with her and when Scott sees her he calls her over to pour water for her. Tessa does but then drinks it and when he taps her on the shoulder she throws the water at his face. Scott is sad after that and stays in the chair alone while everyone else get their role in the plane with Tessa leading. Scott gets up and finds the steer to the plane but he's unsure how to use it. Looking to the audience for help. The rest of the cast assembling into the plane. Then they skate and Tessa waves to Scott to join them and he assumes his role as a pilot. Then the ending! It's fun upbeat with clapping. The girls are in beautiful blue sparkly dresses. The choreography is much simpler then the intro but still fun. They have a section where Meghan and Eric and single skaters to throws/axels. And TS and WP do back to back lifts so on the last lift Tessa's dress (it's a halter) came undone and she hold her hand to her chest to hold it up but the sides were still falling. It was supposed to be a pose and then flip the girls up to a lift on the guys shoulder. So during the pose sections Scott pulls Tessa in a very close very tight hug using his chest to block her chest while Tessa pulled up the strings he took them from her and spinned her around holding he straps. Then she held her hair up and Scott did up the straps. Then they skate around together and line up for the final bow where yes Scott is beside Tessa. Scott gets really excited for the bow and jumps up and down on the spot. Tessa looks at him and smiles (God their private looks). Then they all wave goodbye and skate off. Pics to follow!!
