Love the idea of werewise, but also think the concept of wereheart could be cool
Like, will being taken and bitten by a werewolf as a child could parallel him disappearing to the upside down and becoming part of the hivemind
Mike looking for him in the dark dangerous wood, insisting will is still alive
When will returns he knows something is wrong, that he has changed, and oh is he scared of it
Shadowheart why are your teeth so sharpp
Something something about Mike being a "dog" and Wil being a "deer," but if Will's the werewolf, then Mike's the deer in the headlights of Will's eyes.
Finally done with part 3 😴 not a 100% happy with this but if I keep staring at it I might lose my mind 🥲 hope you guys enjoy anyways!
Untitled Reverse WereHeart AU Part 3:
Their continued companionship starts out normal enough. Despite travelling together, they keep a respectable distance from each other. The wolf preferring to keep to the shadows, disappearing when encountering other travellers and only reappearing later that night when she had made camp. It is then that Lae’zel has taken to naming the creature ‘Shadowheart’ and the wolf seems to respond to it well enough, after having tried out many other names to be only met with a slight huff and a snout turned upwards in almost a sneer.
The first full moon they spend together is when things change. Lae’zel has always been a light sleeper, you would have to be, growing up as she did on K’liir. So when she feels a presence looming over her during the night, her hand reaches for the knife hidden in her bedroll.
It all happens in an instance and she has her knife to the trespasser’s throat.
“You have breathed your last, istik”
She notices then that the wolf was nowhere to be seen. She presses the knife deeper into the istik’s throat, enough so that a bead of blood begins to form around the edge.
“What have you done with the wolf?” , she snarled.
It is then that she finally takes in the appearance of the trespasser. A pale female half-elf with even paler hair that almost shines in the moonlight. She is nude with faint but numerous scars littering her body.
“I will not ask again, kainyank, what have you done with the wolf?” Her patience wears thin.
The stranger frowns and opens her mouth to speak but seems to struggle with the words, as if speaking for the first time in a long time, she almost rasps out,
“Shh..aado..hhrtt”
Lae’zel’s frown deepens, staring into the eyes of this stranger. There is a strange familiarity about the green of her eyes and the scar on her cheek, when suddenly it all clicks into place. A werewolf.
“Shadowheart?”

Okay so Werewolf au
There's been a murder in Hawkins. The victim got mauled, police say. Nothing like they've ever seen. Maybe they have a missing limb, maybe a chunk of their throat is gone. It's gnarly. The body is... everywhere.
First responders state that at first they weren't sure what they were even looking at.
There are no bears in the Hawkins' forest, no wolves, so... what the hell got them? It's only a matter of hours before the news spreads around.
(this got long so the rest is under the cut)
