Sherlock Fic Recs: [1] [2] [3] [4] Here’s a Fic Masterlist for my other fandoms. ( ** = favorites )
**And A Doctor by stillwaters01
Word count: 24,962 (6/6)
Summary: It was only when people actually saw John working as a physician that they began to understand: that it wasn’t just about bullets and IEDs and trauma care under fire. That “doctor” actually covered a pretty wide field. And that John was bloody good at covering ground. 5 times Dr. Watson treated others and 1 time he treated himself.
Man and Beast by Jupiter_Ash
Word count: 19,914 (1/1)
Summary: Written for this prompt here. Sherlock is a werewolf who is captured by a facility which wants to experiment on him. When John is placed into his cage they expect Sherlock to attack him, but instead, he tries to mate with John.
**EMERGENCY CONTACT: Sherlock Holmes, RELATIONSHIP: n/a by blueink3
Word count: 5,534 (1/1)
Summary: The first time John Watson’s emergency contact is called is the first time Sherlock Holmes finds out that he has the job.
Comments: Part 1/2 of The Emergency Contact Series.
EMERGENCY CONTACT: John Watson, RELATIONSHIP: Saint by blueink3
Word count: 6,229 (1/1)
Summary: The first time Sherlock Holmes realizes he needs an emergency contact is the first time he mentally appoints John Watson with the job.
John, of course, does not know this and neither does the local hospital.
Comments: Part 2/2 of The Emergency Contact Series.
Very Good Indeed by stillwaters01
Word count: 4,144 (1/1)
Summary: John Watson was a doctor, trained to observe details; a fact Sherlock had never been more aware of than when a drugged John’s lifesaving instructions were based on an unlabeled syringe and an unconscious murder suspect’s body.
**The Republic of Heaven by Blind_Author
Word count: 121,534 (15/?)
Summary: His Dark Materials AU. John and his dæmon, Amarisa, have never quite fit in, largely because she settled as a wolfdog. Sherlock and Raniel are similarly isolated, mostly because the woman they call Mummy is a witch. These two men and their dæmons end up sharing a flat together and the rest, as they say, is history. And with a witch-clan out for John's blood and a man known as Moriarty emerging from the shadows, they're certainly not going to be bored.
Comments: My most favorite Sherlock fic of all time! Part 1 of a series.
The Autumn Moon is Bright by barrowjane
Word count: 23,935 (3/3)
Summary: John has two secrets he keeps from Sherlock - he manages this, he thinks, only because Sherlock would find the idea that John is attracted to him just as unlikely as the idea of John being a werewolf. He's not sure what it says about his life, that love and lycanthropy are considered equally impossible events.
**Helpless by ivyblossom
Word count: 12,745 (17/17)
Summary: John, ever the good doctor, notices something not quite right about Sherlock. Biopsy, diagnosis, surgery, and radiation: Sherlock lives through thyroid cancer treatment. Think that's in poor taste? I actually kind of agree with you. This fic is written by a thyroid cancer survivor (me!) for a thyroid cancer survivor going through treatment round two. Its purpose in life is to stamp all over the nasty experience with slashy goodness. I have inserted shippy joy all over the experience, wherever I could. This is a hurt/comfort cancer story wrapped in loviness, sexytimes, and "how they got together" fun for a friend who really needs something else to think about whilst in radioative isolation. Apologies to anyone offended.
Speaker for the Bees by antiemtamfalls
Word count: 14,649 (3/3)
Summary: It isn't always easy assisting a deaf detective. Luckily for John, they make a pretty good team.
The Second Law of Thermodynamics by entanglednow
Word count: 3,614 (1/1)
Summary: In which there's no heating and there's a dead owl in Sherlock's bed.
Comments: Part 1/4 of the Thermodynamics series. Lots of cuddles.

Prompt #185
BBC, Sherlock/John
Still thinking abt this a little but
Idk are there 'breeds' of werewolf? I mean, if they're derivatives of canis lupus it stands to reason there would be like, subsets of characteristics. But! Is this dependent on what kind of werewolf turns you? Or is it dependent on your own genes, the lycanthropy being more of a virus that presents symptoms differently based on your physiology?
This is all a long winded way of saying Sherlock would be like, the whippet of werewolves. or a borzoi or something lithe and fast but prone to self censure (which comes from his human self). He denies himself in an effort to keep his Hyde in check. This, coupled with him taking to stimulants to keep his human brain working in overdrive, gives us perhaps something of the Sherlock pre-John, the Sherlock of the drug dens that Lestrade pulled out of the gutter.
The difference comes with the wolfish part straining at the leash, as it were. There's this hungry part of him now (that perhaps is accentuating a part that was already there, because that's the point of the genre). But because he resists, that hunger manifests more violently the longer he tries to deny it. And this is a problem for Lestrade because he can't exactly bring these criminals to justice if Sherlock tears them to shreds first. Especially as this hunger starts to bleed through when Sherlock isn't fully werewolf. Though, depending on what myth structure you follow, he could be a lost cause from the moment he's turned and his grasp on his human self grows more and more tenuous as the lycanthropy takes over like a disease until eventually he's gone forever.
Spotlight Sunday
It's a new thing!
On Sundays I'm going to start spotlighting some fun fics. If they're ones we've already reviewed, I'll link to the reviews. If I haven't gotten to review 'em yet ('cause seriously, the review queue is so long, and I'm sorry) I'll link directly to the fic. This week, in honor of the completion of All Things Inherit by BeautifulFiction (which we'll definitely be reviewing soon...ish) I decided to go with werewolves! This list is in no particular order, just some fun werewolf-centric fics.
1. Beneath the Silver Moon by SailorChibi
2. Full Moon by s0mmerspr0ssen
3. Powerful, Beautiful, and Without Regret by songlin
4. Unbound Madness by Durrant
5. Man and Beast by Jupiter_Ash
Now, go get your licky, scenty, fuzzy groove on.
John is shocked at his own observations, stumbling a bit before sitting heavily in his chair.
"No, not there," Sherlock tells him, guiding him up and onto the sofa. "It still smells like Mycroft. I haven't had a chance to reclaim it yet."
Sherlock rubs a hand across John's back, across his arse and the tops of his thighs - everywhere John touched the chair. Oh.
Because I got bored and I've not seen any Werewolf!Holmes Bros around here (probably because the only indicator I could come up with was glowy amber eyes *head!desk* XD)
Oh well
Werewolf!Sherlock
this is really kool
