Noah was really dreading this week. After the earthquake the doctors had done what was possible for Noah's knee, they had fixed the most important and time sensitive repairs, but with all the swelling and so many things they had to repair in the knee, they needed to wait for the swelling to go down. In two days it was show time and after that Noah would find out if his Ice hockey career was over for good or if he had the slightest chance of making it back. It was unlikely he would ever get to the level he had been at on the ice but Noah hoped. He had to. Ice hockey was his everything.
Noah felt like he would go insane just laying at home with his foot elevated like the doctor had told him, so he had made his way down to the lake, he had found a nice tree to sit by, or he decided to lay on his back with his foot resting on the trunk of the tree so it was elevated. In that case nobody could yell at him for not doing anything the doctor told him to. That’s when he noticed a shadow over him and he looked up “ oh hi, long time no see” Noah said with a smile
