The song that inspired Tyler. His mother isn’t fully capable of loving him because she’s almost always too lost in her head wishing and imagining a life that was much different than the life she has now

A song for his son, whom he has just met and still is processing the entire thing. He knows he suffers from a form of midas’ touch where he ruins everything he touches and just hopes he doesn’t ruin the child.

His relationship with Chloe was toxic and always because of himself. He does love her in his own twisted way but in a home like his he was never really sure what love really was. Tyler knows this isn’t any sort of excuse at this point. He loves her with ever fibre of his being his actions just tent to not show it

TASK 001 - KJ’S PLAYLIST

thunder/young, dumb, and broke - imagine dragons, khalid

“just a young gun, with a quick fuse. i was uptight, wanna let loose. i was dreaming of bigger things, and wanna leave my old life behind.”

along with the literal context of being young, dumb, and broke, kennedy really resonates with this song. she’s dreaming of how much easier life will be once she’s done with this chapter. once she’s done having to answer to her boss, when she’s done living a life of crime. she wants her dad to get better, so that everything can fall back into place. this song is basically her hopes and dreams.

sign of the times - harry styles

“just stop your crying, have the time of your life. . .remember everything will be alright. we can meet again somewhere, somewhere far away from here.”

kj’s mother left rather abruptly when her family found out she was having an affair. she can’t help crying to this song, and oftentimes tries to quickly skip this song if it comes on since it brings up memories of her mom. she really hopes to meet up with her mom again eventually, just to get some closure, and get to see her one more time. plus, kennedy isn’t exactly close with her stepmom.

vienna - billy joel

“slow down, you crazy child, you're so ambitious for a juvenile. but then if you're so smart, then tell me, why are you still so afraid?”

billy joel is just one of many classic rock artists that kj listened to regularly with her dad throughout childhood. she vividly remembers sitting next to cars, holding a flashlight at the engine while her dad worked, and they sang along to whatever song came out of their radio. songs like this really help her take a step back, and she usually listens to this specific song after jobs.

“when we were made, we were set apart. life is a test and i get bad marks. now some saint’s got the job of writing down my sins. the storm is coming, the storm is coming in!”

kennedy genuinely loves this song, although the lyrics can be a little messy and all over the place, it’s just so relatable. she loves singing this song, and belts it out anywhere- the car, the shower, wherever. it’s like her personal anthem.

Task 001 - Noah’s Playlist

In my blood - Shawn Mendes

Feeling all alone and insecure, like everything is going wrong like everything is pointless. Feeling like nothing will ever get better. You simply just want to give up. Hasn’t everyone felt that way? Noah sure has but he never gives up. He sometimes feels like Shawn is singing about every single one of his motions and the song always motivates Noah and reminds him not to give up no matter what’s going on. Not to mention how hot Noah thinks Shawn is and what a wonderful artist he is. Shawn is one of Noah’s favorite singers and listening to Shawn’s voice always gets Noah in a better mood.

Thinking out loud – Ed Sheeran

Noah is a hopeless romantic who loves to daydream about his future. The relationship Ed sings about in this song is something Noah wishes he could have one day but feels like it will never happen. Noah often finds himself daydreaming in his room listening to “ thinking out loud” and singing along.

Hakuna Matata (from Lion King) – Nathan Lane and more

Growing up, Lion King was Noahs number one go to movie. He had seen it more times that he could keep count off. His favorite moments growing up were running around the house with his sister Shay and singing the song on top of their lungs in funny voices. Noah held those memories close to his heart. Still today he sometimes manages to pull Shay along with him in the song. It’s an uplifting song that always gets Noah in a good happy mood. Hakuna Matata is a phrase Noah loves.

Heaven – Troye Sivan

Lately, especially after receiving the mail from Westmont gossip, Noah has been thinking hard about his whole situation and his secret. He hates keeping this secret but is so scared of coming clean. This song is about everything he is feeling regarding his secret so he can relate to it extremely well and it makes him feel less alone in this all. Knowing his icon has gone through something so similar. The main message with the song is that its Okay to be open about being gay and that’s something Noah really hopes he can be at some point. Troy is a great help in this whole department and Noah listens to Troy’s music a lot for comfort.

it's not a song as old as their relationship, but it fits them perfectly. it describes exactly how shorty feels for her husband and it will always be her favorite song.

easy loving you - chalee tennison

she's liked this song since she heard it as a kid, but now that she's living it, she relates to it a lot more. although she wasn't expecting her pregnancy and it's taken time for her to fully get used to the idea of becoming a mother, she loves her baby and will do anything to make him or her the happiest kid in the world.

my sister - reba mcentire

her sister was her first best friend. since they came out of the womb, they've been side by side. even through their fights or issues with each other, they defend one another. even if shorty's just been in a huge fight with her and she wants to rip her face off, if someone says something bad about her, shorty's ready to get violent.

don't forget to remember me - carrie underwood

her parents mean the world to her. even though they were the reason she moved out, she loves them with all her heart an she hopes that even though she hasn't been home for a while (aside from christmas) that they're thinking of her.
