Any tips on making dirt and blood makeup for a cosplay?

Personally, I used Ben Nye’s “Clean Dirt,” “Plains Dust,” and “Charcoal Powder” for my Left 4 Dead stuff, though you do want to be aware that while it’s great for makeup effects it’s also pretty hard to wash out of clothing

(There’s also tea + other kitchen items-type weathering, which i haven’t tried personally but you can ask tumblr user @tooraloora [wow why won’t that link work] how she got into all that if you’re interested)

As for fake blood, you can probably find it by the gallon + the little chewy vampire pellets in the Halloween aisle of your local Party City, but if not, there’s recipes that use corn syrup and food coloring online. And if that fails, there’s always smearing yourself with warm lipstick :B

3. When I can't get to sleep i think about a blank white wall and picture myself staring at it. I describe the white wall and the emptiness of it in my head. That stops me from having racing thoughts.

When that doesn't work, I repeat "empty your mind" in my head, Squidward-style. Sometimes I have to yell it at myself in my head to make me focus.
