Hello, I know this is weird but thought it was the right thing to do.

I don’t use tumblr anymore. Haven’t in many years. However, every now and then, maybe once a year or so, I log on and go through my archive and give myself a massive dose of the heebie jeebies.

However, this week exactly 11 years ago, Rebecca and I started following each other on tumblr for the first time.

Since then, we’ve been following each other on any and all other social media platforms.

The coolest part is that Rebecca found herself in London the exact week of this anniversary and I got to say hello.

Sorry for long posts and if you think I'm ignoring your blogs I haven't been on tumblr much, been using Twitter a lot more Considering deleting

On that note I’m fucking exhausted because I’ve had to add a shit tonne of hours to my rota this week to either cover for sickness because nobody else will or visit schools for community projects

My next day off isn’t until Sunday so that will be 7 days in a row with mostly early starts

My uncle

Went to a funeral today, which was weird. Had to work beforehand early in the morning to cover for sickness which was shit

Haven’t been to a funeral since I was very little so it was kind of my first as a conscious human being

My uncle died which meant that I was in the close family section of the church so I got to sit in the reserved row and we left first after the service which made me feel like a celebrity. Although I’m not very close to any of my family members at all so I kind of didn’t feel like I was worthy to sit in the close family section

It also meant that I wasn’t very upset when I heard the news or during the service but seeing other people upset was really strange and also looking at a coffin knowing there was a man in there was terrifying and made me think about mortality

I learnt some things about him too like he started preaching for the church when he was 22, so a year younger than me and he did that for around 65 years and everyone at church knew him which is why it was so busy with church goers and (weirdly) loads of my Costa regulars. I learned that he grew up in Southamption during the WW2 bombings which is ridiculous and there were a few old men there with medals on which always makes me emotion

Also funerals seem to be one of the only places where it’s socially acceptable to walk up to someone and say “Who are you?” and then you have to say exactly how you’re related to someone. That happened to me a lot, it was weird
