Hello! I wanted to take a moment before this weekend to address something with those of you who follow me here. (🫶🏼)

You may have noticed that my messages and ask box are currently closed to non-mutuals. While I turned off anonymous asks a long time ago, I’ve decided to close them all entirely for the time being.

I want to be very clear about why: bullying and harassment. In all my years on this site, I have never logged on to unpromptedly hurt or bring someone else down. I say "unprompted" because I’m not going to pretend I’m a perfectly submissive person who doesn’t bite back—I have, and I will continue to defend myself when necessary. However, I usually prefer to just block and move on.

I love sharing my interests, selfies, and life with you all, and I truly appreciate the kind messages and questions I receive. But please remember:

* I have a life: I have a job, hobbies, and privacy to maintain. I am not always logged on. None of us should be. I do not come on here to chat daily, it’s usually a quick scroll or share.

* Don’t take it personally: If I don’t respond, it isn’t a slight against you. A lot of messages are sent to my ask and my DMs. When the app is refreshed or re-opened, your message may be moved down and most of the time I miss them.

Unfortunately, someone recently took a lack of response personally and tried to "humble" me. I returned their energy and blocked them, but they proceeded to spend the day harrassing me from multiple new accounts.

As adults, we have to do better. Whether you are in your 20s like I am, 30s, or older, we need to treat each other with respect and mind our own business. I have blocked and reported all associated accounts.

I won’t be posting their username or the screenshots for now since the behavior has stopped, but if you are worried about your own safety, please comment or reach out so I can let you know who to watch out for.

when we screened the rocky horror picture show (1975) at university as part of our weekly gothic film screenings, i commented that it’s ‘a movie that loves movies’. fay wray, rko, the whole of science fiction / double feature…. it’s in love with a very specific kind and time of horror. and then i wondered, briefly, whether there was a clear uk equivalent— a film that hit particularly on the british horror of that time. and then it hit me: madhouse (1974) is quite alike. not that vincent price was british, never mind many of his films, but he did so much over here. and starring alongside peter cushing, and with the details of the film, there’s something just so british to it. i think the two films would make a corker of a double feature, all of their own

Weird that OP of prev reblog felt the need to specify “AMAB they/them” when just saying “David uses they/them pronouns” would’ve worked perfectly fine but *shrug* the rest of the post is good
