Though he'd only been gone for a week, with only a little time to talk, you could tell it was taking a toll on him not being close to you.

He sighs dramatically, you hear the quiet rustling of what you assume is him turning over in his hotel bed. “I’m the strongest thank you very much, how dare you doubt me…” There's a long stretch of silence before he speaks again. "... Do you think if we got married they'd stop sending me out so much?" You choke on air briefly, heat rushes to your cheeks." Toru!? You can't just say things like that!” “ ‘m serious.” You can hear the pout in his voice.
You clear your throat. “If this is your way of proposing, you're doing an awful job at it. Especially if you're weaponizing our hypothetical marriage to get out of work.” He chuckles softly. " Getting out of work is only part of it… Besides I misssss youuuu” He sighs dreamily. " Think about it. I'd get to call you my wife all the time, I wouldn't have to go away for long periods... I think, and we'd be married. Could start a family and everything ya know…”
You blink, your hand holding the phone up to your ear clenches slightly. “I'll tell you what, you come home safe and I'll… consider it.” You can hear him bolt upright. “REALLY!?" You can't help but laugh. “Yes really. I love you, stupid. I was serious though you gotta come up with a better proposal though." Again, you can't see him but you can hear the devious smirk that spreads across his face. “You're soooo gonna regret saying that, just you wait. ‘m gunna give you the best proposal you've ever seen.” You shake your head with a smile, your head thumping in your chest tenderly. " Looking forward to it."
