He is… not drunk… but on his way. Life felt a little easier, a little lighter, with something to ease nerves, or really just numb the nervous system in general. With a half-finished drink in hand, Casimir leans against the cantina's bar and turns to the man beside him. Although he looks him over, he wasn’t actually sizing him up.
“What are you drinking?” he asks when his gaze lingers on the man’s drink.
“Is it any good?”
Recommendations were better than menus. Finding things to his taste was usually trial and error. But maybe his next drink would be whatever this one was having, and it would be better than the same drink he’s had several times. The same one in his hand. Mostly because he couldn’t read the damn menu, but he wouldn’t let that stop him from having a good time.
@whatmust : so much for laying low. / from the 'stop putting yourself into danger' prompts!
"this is why we can't ever get out." hisses past pale lips. it may have been weeks, months, years, but time cares not for what fate bestows them. they never asked for this role in life, & they certainly wouldn't have chosen it if they could, but it was out of their hands. out of their mind! as the galaxy around them surrendered to the empire, their desires to flee from it had to be buried. their line of work would only become more common-
more than it already was. it didn't help that they were extra screwed; being an offspring of the jedi, if anyone knew, they would be hunted down. hunters becoming prey, a never-ending cycle of fighting for survival.
"you're lucky, you know." the hybrid doesn't want to be hostile, but bottling up emotions isn't good for the soul. he should know that. yet their volume remains low, like a whisper. "you don't have debts to clear, you can hide for as long as you want. people think you're dead, or just some guy that lives in the desert for the hell of it. i would do anything to have what you have."
no matter how many times they've tried to run, it always catches up to them. fate was just a fancy word for consequences, & they were so tired.
@whatmust liked for a starter! Timeline: Post-ROTS - Tatooine
He takes one step, then another, as he releases the discomfort -the exhaustion, the pain- into the Force, then takes another step. One after the other, hunching over only when the wind and the sand are too strong to let him stand up straight.
He doesn't know where he's going. He doesn't even know where he is, as matters stand, but he trusts the Force.
He has nothing else but the Force, his Jedi attire and his Lightsaber, and a vague direction to follow. It is not even certainty that he's on the right path, but he's somewhat certain it's not the wrong path to take, and so he'll settle for that. That, and the way he thinks he'd seen a building as the ship crashed.
He almost thinks it's a mirage, at first. A building, and after an eternity -hours, merely hours- in the desert, someone. A lifeform. Or perhaps many, in the distance. But he's certain enough of the building, even here and now.
And so he takes step after step, and approaches.
@whatmust asked :
"I haven't the slightest idea what you might be referring to." / locke
"SURE." IS THE RESPONSE HE GETS as the hilt of their lightsaber is pointed at him with skepticism. "Force forbid a padawan asks questions." When she's satisfied with how long she's stared him down all intimidating-like, the weapon is clipped back at their side again. Not that she uses it all that much, anyways.
"SO I DON'T GET TO KNOW WHY YOU'RE HERE at all?" She asks, even though she doubts her second question will get answered if her first one didn't. "That's kind of lame, you know that, right?"
@whatmust I can't believe you lied to me about your name.
@whatmust tested their luck and got a starter from sean harrison!
"I-I DON'T KNOW IF THAT'S A GOOD IDEA." Sean offers , though he supposes that he really doesn't have much room to talk. If he was asked what he thought was a good idea , he would probably come up blank. Well .. unless you qualify 'shaking and sobbing until someone feels bad for you' a good idea , but the Captain usually frowned upon that , so he doubts it will be any more useful here. Besides , maybe he should be listening to the people with the badass cloaks and laser swords.
"ON SECOND THOUGHT ," He says , somehow more nervous than he was before. "I... I think it's a great idea! Fantastic , even. I-I'll do whatever you say."
@whatmust sent ; I can't tell if you're joking. for maul , both in their modern verse !
from a meme .
"WHY WOULD I BE JOKING? Palpatine has paid me to run him over before - is it that unlikely to believe he would have me do so again? What reason would I have not to accept such an offer once more? He did pay well last time."
HIS EXPRESSION REMAINS COMPLETELY DEADPAN, giving Obi-Wan no further clue on his true intentions. In reality, he hasn't been paid to run Qui-Gon over again - but the idea gets in Obi-Wan's head enough that he can't resist taunting him with it.
