hey, we’re keeping a secret

this was a really great fic i stumbled on last night, about nancy and mike wheeler from stranger things. 

i’ll admit, i never really thought about shipping them because mike is so young but the fic quickly ages him up to 16, and the author notes the next chapter will be more graphic and mike will be 18. that said, there IS underage action in this fic so please take caution. 

nancy and mike are always siblings and they stay true to that dynamic even as the fic takes us through their relationship slowly developing until the lines are blurring out of control. i love fics like these, because it’s always important to me our sibling lovers are both siblings and lovers.

thinking about my married with kids nancemike au where mike was adopted out really young (right after birth) and nancy never knew he existed. can be seen as cis nancemike but i personally have them as t4t in this one

mike meeting nancy in college while she's a senior and he's a freshman but they meet at a party mike's friends host and hit it off easily over a couple of pretty strong drinks

mike and nancy ending the night making out in a guest room and getting caught by one of nancy's friends who orders a taxi for her as she pouts drunkenly

mike asking for her number before she leaves and her blushing bright red before grabbing a pen and writing it on his arm

mike writing it down on a sticky note by the phone in the morning after he's taken painkillers and smiling to himself as he does, drawing a little heart next to her name

mike and nancy spending hours on the phone after that until both their friend groups push them together and it turns out their feelings were still mutual after gushing to those same friends who turned out to be talking to each other about getting mike and nancy together

mike being insanely smart and joining nancy's study groups just to be able to keep up with her in a lot of classes but refusing to take any of her compliments about it

nancy sitting in on mike's dnd games and begrudgingly helping him act out scenes when he calls on her (she refuses to admit she finds it fun but they're very fond memories she thinks about often)

mike being in his own senior year when they decide to get married after four years of dating while telling neither of their families anything about their plans as they're estranged (and mike takes nancy's name too, not wanting to keep his own)

(they both have bad relationships with their parents; nancy from neglect and witnessing domestic violence, mike from abuse)

a few years later they decide to have kids and end up with a daughter named emily who they both love with all their hearts

but everything falls apart when karen and ted find out about the baby and demand to see her, showing up at mike and nancy's when they refuse to comply

karen's face goes white when mike answers the door because she's SEEN that face before and now she's speechless to how they found each other without nancy knowing about mike

both ted and karen are turned away without a second thought but they start using a private investigator to find out everything that's changed and they're both shocked to find out the two are married with a kid

when karen goes back to explain alone, she's laughed at but eventually mike's worn down enough to do parentage testing and both he and nancy are shocked at the results

they do have an honest conversation soon after, they're both angry for different reasons of course; nancy at not being told she had a sibling and mike for being given away so young. they talk about emily and what would be best for her, too

they decide to stay together in their house and married for now, focusing on getting restraining orders after karen and ted keep showing up to the point it becomes stalking

after that they go on a small vacation with their daughter, just wanting to forget for a while and have fun without thinking about the whole sibling thing
