Todays cereal is Wheetos Chocolety Hoops Orange Flavour! On the box it says ‘loved by kids, approved by parents’, as I am neither of those things hopefully I’ll be able to give this a level headed and honest review.
Initial impressions: I love chocolate and orange as a flavour combination, so I’m really excited for these! However, in my experience limited edition flavours can tend to be limited edition for a reason. We shall see if this deserves to be inducted into the regular Wheetos roster!
Post bowl thoughts: when you open the box and lean your head over the dry cereal prices, a deliciously rich chocolate sent suffuses the air. This would prove disappointingly to be misleading, as these Wheetos are the blandest cereal I’ve ever had. There is meant to be chocolate in there, but where is she? They lead with the wheat taste of the hoops, which is deliberately lacklustre to carry flavour, and then follow up with an aftertaste of chemical orange so paltry and futile it might as well not have been there. Usually, even if I don’t like a cereal more broadly, I can pick out redeeming factors. For these, in all of their wasted promise, it is too kind to seek redemption. The milk sucks. I didn’t finish the bowl.
