too many aus is never a problem I think, it's the best thing actually!! not finishing on the other hand... :( but I get it, I'm the same haha^^;

I counted up how many unfinished fics (most of them AUs) I had at one point, and it was so depressing a number I blocked it from my memory. That post (or at least a screenshot of the list) is probably on my writing blog somewhere, though.

I'm so sad people actually use Sonny to hate on John, I mean, interpretation is one thing, but literally forgetting quotes in order for their hate and headcanons to make sense?? that's too much. and yes, he told Dean he was proud of him because he did love his son, enough to sacrifice everything he had, just to save him. ;_; *curls around john and hisses protectively*

Ah, yes, bring me your tired, your weak, and your poor huddled masses! It seems I'm the mother hen for John fans tonight in the wake of the haters jumping to conclusions.

Same, lovely, same. John did in fact tell Dean he was proud of him while not possessed by a demon; he told Dean explicitly that he was proud of him in 2x01 In My Time of Dying.

There are so many possibilities that explain why John was the way he was: PTSD, military training, his own father "abandoned" him, his wife was murdered, to name a few. But apparently wanting to make sure your kids can protect themselves and preparing them for the very real threats that had already stolen their mother from them, well, that's just inexcusable. John really must have hated his kids if he went to Hell for one of them, gosh darn. And as I laid out here, there are definitely ways to explain the events of this episode without "John was a terrible father who hated his kids" that are just as likely and more in character.

I'm not buying those lies you're selling.
