“What’s that supposed to MEAN?” A perked brow adding to judgmental eyes. He knows what savage means but knows it as a word only used for animals acting aggressive. The term doesn’t seem appropriate here. As for uncivilised, he’s heard it being uttered with chiding from his tribe’s elders towards the rambunctious youths (that included him). Still, her statement didn’t feel right. Unclear what she intends to convey, yet something has GRATED him.

Leonardo had blood oozing down his chin. Not only had he been experimented on - but he’d been interrogated for information. The scientists had wanted to know more than Leo had anticipated. He regretted not being careful. He’d always known what would happen... The leader coughed, more blood dribbling down his chin. Even though they had hurt him, Leonardo’s will had no broken. He’d die before putting his family members at risk. He’d told them nothing - not even his own name. That had only gotten them more furious and they had decided to chain him without offering him any food until he became more cooperative. He chuckled at the very thought that they honestly thought that’d get him to talk.

‘I have an obligation to my family. You’ll never get me to talk.’ He had told them. Hence why he had blood dribbling down his chin. They had punched him for his ‘disobedience’. They certainly didn’t treat their test subjects with very much respect in that place. At the very least, they hadn’t publicized their findings... well, the leader didn’t think they had. He silently prayed they hadn’t either. Not only would that put his family at risk - but that would make them attempt to save Leonardo. Then his siblings could end up in the same place as the leader and he dreaded the very thought.

A woman’s voice pulled the leader from his silent ponderings. He lifted his head to look up at her. She didn’t appear to be at all frightened, or even shocked, by his existence. Could she be a scientist? She did not seem to have a white jacket like one.... Leo didn’t know if he could trust her. For all he knew, they could be paying her to get answers from him. Though she seemed to be rather innocent. Perhaps the leader could give her a chance. 

“They’ve... They’ve definitely not done anything good to me.” He replied with a cough, “They’ve been trying to do tests on me and learn about my family. What are you doing here?” Why did she even care about him? He studied her more closely as he awaited her response.

            The boy sits near the edge of the shore with his legs tucked under him, waves still at a good, far reach away of getting him. And blue eyes squint a little under the bright sun as blond locks blow in all sorts of directions against his forehead. He sighs, feeling a little bored with this. But then he spots a girl, she doesn’t seem to have any company of her own so Blaze decides he might ask her to come join him. “Hey.” he gives slight of a wave towards her. “Want to help me build a sandcastle? I feel kinda dumb just buildin’ one by myself over here.”
