How you started...today’s prompt for #marchmeetthemaker ..it’s story time!! 😊 These should really be posted in reverse but I just love Buddy’s portrait, so I couldn’t resist putting it first! It really all began in 1992 with the third image. A portrait of my grandparents cat, Dolly, I was 4 yrs old. My grandma has displayed this in her house since it’s creation ❤️ Flash-forward to 2015, my first real taste of pet portrait work. Buddy was apart of a 3 dog portrait I created for my Aunt and Uncle of their 3 fur babies. The second image is an in progress shot of Dakota and Buddy before Maui was added. The fur-ball on my lap is my little beam of light, Chewy. He never missed a drawing session or an opportunity to chew my pencil ends. I miss him terribly but he is the real reason, along with my aunt’s dogs, that drove my desire to create portraits for people as memorials and a way to celebrate these beautiful souls. . .
