but if i wasn't i'd probably write something about how Kalim has never had to share a thing in his life (not unwillingly) and is quite weird about having to share Jade.
like, he's talking to Jade and whatnot and Azul's like "Jade c'mere a sec" and Jade just?? leaves???? huh????? Kalim is shocked.
it happens a lot, where Jade has something called a "prior engagement" or "someone's talking to him rn" or "work to do" or whatever and he just???? leaves??? the heck????
Kalim is ticked but has no clue why or what he feels about it. So he tells Jamil about it.
now, for plot reasons, Jamil will be his ex. okay for plot. they're on good(ish) terms, plus Jamil is still technically working for the Asims so they had to make peace. not the point.
Jamil tells him "dude, you've never had to share a day in your life. you hate sharing. giving, sure, but sharing? nah."
Kalim is like "yes ofc this makes sense. so i just gotta make sure no one else needs Jade so i don't have to share!" and Jamil doesn't bother correcting him bc, well, not his problem anymore.
Kalim talks to Jade about it. he's like "y'know, when i was dating Jamil..."
and Jade is immediately at attention bc Kalim NEVER talks about when he and Jamil were a thing. he avoids the subject like the plague while reassuring that he doesn't have feelings for Jamil anymore, not like that.
Kalim continues like "i never had to share him. he was mine and no one else needed him like i did. i don't like sharing."
Jade says nothing and idk Kalim shoves him into a wall and holds him there like "i don't wanna share you."
and Jade is just. fascinated. bc he was right.
zip alllll the way back to the beginning. Jade paying more attention to other people? an experiment. he wanted to see Kalim jealous JUST LIKE Jade is whenever Kalim is within a five mile radius of Jamil. He tested the theory. yes.
anyway yeah Kalim doesn't like sharing and Jade doesn't either so they work. and it's disgustingly toxic bc Jade will start to hang out with other people deliberately and not pay attention to Kalim on purpose just to see him mad. yes.
