this is also to say that i am forever pissed off at rupaul's drag race for many reasons but as we finally start to see more frequent casting of trans queens i really resent how much production just completely willfully misrepresented drag as an art form for cisgender men for like a decade straight.

i'm just going to stay mad about it.

on a micro level i get genuinely infuriated thinking about the number of women who just weren't allowed through the door or had to actively conceal their transition from casting.

on a macro level i think it just genuinely like completely fucked up the public understanding of this subculture and this art form.
