I FOUND ANOTHER KIN
Blog Update for Summer 2022
Hello my friends! I hope you’re all well and enjoying the beginning of summer 💚
As I have written on my pinned post, I will be away from tumblr for a number of weeks this summer due to my traveling for work. I am going to a very rural area with little service and Wi-Fi, so this blog will be less active than usual. However, I will return and plan to do so in full force! I will be back in August to answer any asks or messages and to continue writing and posting. I will see you all then. -LL🧝🏻♂️♥️
Just a reminder
Watch
A/N: Hello! Another day off means another story! This time a Kili story. ♥️ I hope you guys enjoy. I will add this and the others stories to my masterlist when I get back to my computer after this contract is done. 3 more weeks! Until then, everything I write while I’m away will be under the tag #while im away (whileimaway). Thanks for reading!
EDIT: This story has been added to my Masterlist!
Warnings: FLUFF
Summary: Kili keeps (Y/N) company while she’s on watch.
“Oi, Kili!”
Kili’s head snapped around to his brother who was staring at him with wide, warning eyes.
“Didya hear a single thing I said, lad?” Dwalin growled.
Kili shook his head, his hair whipping over his forehead. “No. Sorry, Dwalin.”
The rough old dwarf stood with a grunt and lumbered away from the pair, grumbling something about stupid boys. Kili’s distant gaze returned to the fire in front of him and he blindly stirred the stew in his lap that he had barely touched.
“Brother, you need to get some good rest tonight or Dwalin will flog you to death. What’s got you so exhausted anyway?” Fili asked.
“I’ve had second watch for the last two nights. I hate second watch! I might as well not sleep at all,” he said gulping down some of his food.
“Well, that’s your fault for taking Ori’s watch. You’re just too kind to us, young prince,” Fili sang, elbowing his brother’s side.
Kili growled. He hated it when anyone of the company called him that. “Oh, for the love of Mahal, Fili. What was I supposed to do? Let him be sick all night from that so called “fish” you boiled for dinner? It’s a wonder anyone was well enough to stand watch that night.”
“That fish was delicious and you know it. You just wanted to be (Y/N)’s golden prince in shining armor.”
Kili’s gaze lifted to you sitting across the fire and he felt himself flush. “What are you talking about? Don’t be stupid, Fili.”
“Oh, come on. Ori was begging for someone to take his place and you volunteered right away once she was there to witness it. That smile she gave you was prize enough for ya, eh?”
“Shut your trap, will ya? I’m tryin’ to eat,” Kili said, praying his brother would do as he asked.
Once there was quiet around the fire, Kili risked a glance to you again. He smiled to himself, remembering the sweet grin you gave him as he finished off his bowl of stew. He’d go a week more without sleep if you’d smile at him again. It made his heart melt.
The company slowly retreated from the fire and set out their bedrolls. Kili spoke with Fili as he did so, keeping his eye on you and secretly setting up next to you. He plopped down on it, satisfied with his work. But when he turned to your roll, you weren’t on it. You had returned to the log in front of the fire.
Fili rolled his eyes at his younger brother and decided to help him out. “(Y/N)? Not going to sleep yet, lass?”
Your shoulders slumped. “No. I have first watch tonight, remember?”
Before Fili could answer, his brother stammered, “I’ll take it for you, (Y/N). I’m not tired anyway.”
You narrowed your eyes at him and he gulped. “Liar,” you smirked. “You’ve had watch the last two nights and you look exhausted.”
Kili’s stomach flipped. Had you really been paying that much attention to him? He cleared his throat and said, “What a compliment, lass.”
You chuckled. “That’s not what I meant and you know it.”
A grumble from Fili convinced Kili to roll over and try to sleep. Soon, everyone around him snored, but despite his weariness, sleep wouldn’t take him. He shuffled and peeked at you from under his arm.
You were studying the stars. He smiled to himself and felt the familiar tightness in his chest that he felt every time he looked at you. Your eyes and smooth skin sparkled in the starlight as you wrung your fingers in your lap. He hated the loneliness that came from being on watch and he couldn’t bear to leave you in it.
He stood, taking his cloak with him, and asked if he could join you on the log. “Can’t sleep,” he said.
You scooted over and grinned in thanks when he sat next to you and covered your shoulders with the fur lined cloak. From behind you, you heard a rustling and you shot around, dagger in hand and threatened what turned out to be a rabbit in the night.
You let out your held breath and smiled. “While I think you should be sleeping, I’m glad you’re here. I always get spooked by the littlest things when I’m alone on watch,” you said, smirking at Kili’s chuckles.
You returned your dagger to the holster on your thigh, running your thumb over the intricately designed head.
“That’s really beautiful. And you wield it well,” Kili said.
“It was my brother’s. I stole it from him before I left,” you said with a laugh. You clicked the handle out of place and then back again. “It needs to be repaired, but it’ll do for now.”
Kili reached out his hand for it and tried to ignore your touch as your fingers brushed his. He twirled and tossed it in his hand, going over the mechanisms and details. “Give me two days and I’ll forge you another once we get to Erebor. Give me three and I’ll forge you an even better one.”
“What can you do in four?” You laughed at his wide eyes and squeezed his forearm. It was a habit of yours and he adored it.
A harsh wind blew and you clutched his cloak around you, noticing his warmth and scent envelope you. You looked to his bow at his feet. “How long did it take you to carve your bow?”
He lifted it. “This? About a day.” He shrugged.
“A day?” You almost yelled.
He smirked and held it out to you. You looked to him in question. You knew no one was allowed to touch his bow but him. Not even Fili. “Take it,” he said.
You held it flat in your hands as if it were made of the thinnest glass. You ran over the smooth etchings with the tips of your fingers. “It’s magnificent. I’ve always wanted to learn to use one. They’re so much more accurate and graceful. It takes such strength...”
Kili’s smirk grew as you trailed off. “It’s not so hard. You’ve seen me do it a hundred times.”
“But you’re so skilled-”
“And you’re so... perfect,” he said before he could stop himself.
Your chin fell as you tried to push your rising color back down. “I’m far from perfect.”
His rough fingers lifted your cheek and pulled your gaze to his. He whispered your name as his stare flitted from your eyes to your lips. Just as you were about to meet, you stopped.
“Kili, wait.”
A wave of dread and embarrassment crashed over him. He drew away quickly but before he could say a word, you set his bow down and slid your fingers through the hair around his ear, bringing him back to you.
“I didn’t want to drop your bow,” you said with a wide grin.
You kissed his surprise-parted lips and felt him smile against you. His arms wrapped around you and held you close with a firm grasp. You melted into his touch, into his kiss, feeling small and safe against him.
He rested his forehead on yours after pecking your lips one last time.
“Thorin will kill you if he finds you distracting me while I’m on watch,” you whispered.
“I’m distracting you?” Kili laughed.
“I’ll kill ya both if ya don’t shut yer yaps and go to sleep,” Dwalin grumbled from below.
You leaned into Kili and giggled into his shoulder as his fingers intertwined with yours. “You really should sleep,” you told him.
He brought your hand to his lips and kissed it. “Not a chance.”
Comforting Touches
A/N: Hello! I had a day off today so I wrote some Thorin fluff! This was inspired by some pictures of Thorin looking particularly stressed and I just wanted to hug our poor dwarf! I will add this to my masterlist when I’m back to my computer, but everything I write while I’m away on this job will be under the tag #whileimaway (#while im away). Hope you guys enjoy!
Edit: This has now been added to my Masterlist
Pairing: Thorin x Reader
Warnings: Fluff, implied smut
Summary: (Y/N) takes care of her husband, Thorin, after a trying day.
Ghivashel: Treasure of all treasures (*squeal*)
You slid into your chambers and leaned back against the door as it clicked closed behind you. As your eyes adjusted to the low light, you frowned. Despite the late hour, your bed remained untouched from that morning and the bathing chamber was clearly empty as well. Then your gaze settled on your husband.
He was standing at the window, staring out at the vast valley below the mountain that shone in the faint light of the clouded moon. Even in the low light of a single candle, and though he had his back to you, you could see his stature was stiff and tense with deep thoughts wrestling in his mind. He was still fully clothed from his hours upon hours of meetings in the mountain and his long hair was tangled and knotted slightly from his restless fingers.
You sighed. Despite his prideful airs, you knew how strained he really was from the countless burdens and kingly duties he had to fulfill. It pained you to see your love so overworked day after day. And from the minuscule shake of his head, you realized something especially frustrating was on his mind tonight.
You silently glided over to the window and stood in front of him, sliding your hands around his waist. He dragged his gaze away from the valley and looked to you, his stone like countenance softening.
“Do you want to talk about it? Or forget about it?” You asked.
He heaved a sigh. His fingers trailed up your arms and his forehead rested gently against yours. “I want you.”
He leaned into you, starving for your gentle touches. His exhausted limbs felt heavy on yours as you untied the clasp on his robe and pushed it off his shoulders. He closed his eyes as you shed his layers until he stood only in his trousers.
He watched lazily as you undressed yourself, leaving on your underclothes. You knew your husband’s needs very well and you knew just how to comfort him this night.
You sat on the bed with your back against the large headboard and pulled him between your legs. He let loose another long sigh as he leaned back on your chest and his fingers traveled up and down your bare legs next to him.
In your time together, Thorin often sang to you his favorite song from his childhood. You echoed it back to him now as you combed through his wavy tresses and soothed the knots from the ends of his braids. He melted into your touch and you held back a chuckle when he sighed yet again.
When his braids were redone and the clasps and beads replaced, you dug your thumbs into his hard shoulders and massaged all of his back you could reach. Slowly, you felt his tensions trickle away.
A few of his low growling moans made you shiver against his hot touch on your legs. One of your brows quirked after your gaze had traveled down his bare chest to see a rising tent in his trousers. Your aching thumbs stopped their work, but your hands continued it, sliding down the front of his furred chest.
His fingers flexed, squeezing your thighs as you placed soft kisses on his thick, veined neck. He growled and sighed. “I love you so much, Ghivashel,” he whispered.
You hummed against his skin in answer and then squealed when he swung you around to land next to him. He pulled your leg across his waist and you rested your head on his shoulder, grinning up at him.
“And I think I will take tomorrow off from my duties to show you just how much,” he said.
Your chest filled with excitement. “What will we do with a whole day to ourselves?”
His large hand ran up your thigh as he spoke against your hair. “I can think of a few things.”
Miss Me?
A/N: Hello! Some writing on my day off! Yes, I had a day off! Yay! I’m about halfway through my contract and then I will return to my usual writing schedule. Until then, everything I write will be under the tag #while im away (#whileimaway) until I get back to my computer and can add them to my masterlist. Thanks for reading!

Pairing: Kili x Reader
Warnings: None
Summary: Kili returns to his love after some time away due to his Erebor duties and fluff ensues.
“Oi! We weren’t expectin’ ya for another fortnight, lad,” Dwalin said, encasing Kili in a rough hug.
Kili chuckled as his lungs rattled. “Negotiations didn’t take as long as we expected-”
“And you had to rush back to that lass a’ yours. Couldn’t bear another day without her, eh?” Dwalin said, pushing his elbow into Kili’s ribs. “She’s gone into the trails, been gone about an hour or so.”
Kili flashed a smile at the thought of you and whirled around, starting into the wood.
Dwalin shouted his name, calling him back. “She’s missed ya, lad.”
His grin fell and he nodded. He quickly wound through the empty trails, knowing exactly where you’d be. The two of you had a hidden spot in the thick forest that overlooked the river where you’d hide away whenever you needed to.
As he crossed the familiar paths, he thought of how much he’d missed you while he was away. He looked forward to the day when he would never have to leave you again. He’d take you anywhere and everywhere, show you all this world had to offer, once you were his. It wouldn’t be long now.
As he closed in on the river, the sound of the rippling water was accompanied by your soft humming. He stopped and hid behind a tree, trying not to disturb you. A grin grew wide on his lips as he watched you.
You sat with your back to him and your legs tucked under you as you thumbed his necklace he had given you before he left for his journey. The sun made your hair shine as it fell off your shoulders and he saw your skin glowing in the light.
Bumps and chills rolled over his skin as he listened to your voice softly sing his favorite tune- the one he often sang to you at night. Your soft vocals filled him with pride, even envy, but especially adoration.
Finally, he couldn’t stand it anymore. He stepped out from behind the tree and toward you. “Miss me?”
He saw your shoulders jump with your start. You turned to him, trying to hide your smile. “I’m sorry, have we met?”
His jaw fell open. “Get over here,” he purred.
You stood, sliding his necklace over your head and running to him. He pulled at your hips and kissed you dearly, smiling against your lips.
“You’re back early,” you said.
“I couldn’t stay away from you for too long.”
You rolled your eyes but grinned brightly despite yourself and kissed his cheek. You sighed, resting your head on his shoulder. “It was too long.”
His grip around you tightened and his lips pressed to your forehead. “I know,” he mumbled against your skin.
He rocked you back and forth as one of his hands rose to lace his fingers in yours. He softly hummed the song you had been singing and you closed your eyes and reveled in his touch.
“Next time, you’re coming with me.”
I’ll Follow You

EDIT: This story has been added to my Masterlist!
Pairing: Fili x Dwarf!Reader
Warnings: Fluff, mention of implied smut but not really
Summary: (Y/N) does her best to convince Thorin, Dwalin, Fili and Kili to let her join the company on their quest to Erebor
Fili plopped down into his seat at the pub and nodded along to Thorin’s complaints about his and his brother’s tardiness. “Sorry, Uncle,” he mumbled as his head swiveled around, taking in the patrons of the pub.
He distantly heard the discussion between Dwalin and his uncle about schedules and supplies, but truly, his attention was elsewhere.
He knew the pub well, knew the regulars and the tenders, and he knew the doors and corners the staff used to rush around the rooms. The place was always crowded with humans, but he frequented it often enough for his own reasons.
A lopsided smile pulled at his mouth when his reason flew out of the kitchen with a tray full of meals. There she is, he thought to himself.
(Y/N) moved with such grace, it made his heart soar. She danced around patrons with a polite smile as she pushed in chairs with her hip and her laugh sang over the noise of the crowd.
She tucked her tray under her arm and leaned on an empty chair as she spoke with one of her regulars. Every day Fili visited the pub, she was almost too busy to talk to because of all the customers who requested her as their server. But that didn’t discourage him from simply sitting back and watching her, as he did even before they were forced to leave Erebor.
He unconsciously mimicked her movements as she wiped beads of sweat from her brow and tucked her loose hair behind her ear. He stopped his gaze from traveling to the low neck of her tunic or the sway of her jutted out hip. Though he dreamed of her at night, he would never gawk at her in reality, he had too much respect for the dam he had grown to know.
Her kind countenance was soon disturbed when a drunken human hissed her name. He stood and flailed an arm, spilling ale on the floor. “(Y/N), you useless wench!” He stumbled over to her and gripped her tunic. “You’re not here to make friends! You’re here to bring me more ale!”
Fili flew to her side quicker than a blink, but she already had the situation handled. She slapped his hand away with a fierce smack and shoved him back. “Sit down and sober up before I have Buck kick you out of here. For good this time.”
Fili’s eyes glowed with rage and his hands balled into tight fists as he glared at the man slumped in the chair. He only turned to (Y/N) when her smooth voice called his name.
“Fili, I know you could easily knock his teeth out. But please, I don’t want to get fired over some shmuck.”
He sighed and softened. “Schmuck is right,” he growled. With a light touch on his arm, she led him back to his table. “You won’t have to work here for much longer anyway. We’re going to reclaim the mountain and when we do, we’ll reclaim our rightful places in society as well.”
Disbelief bloomed on her features. “You’re going back to Erebor?”
“Yes.”
Home, she thought to herself. She dreamed of living in the mountain again, returning to where she belonged. She had once been a noble dam of a high born clan, but when Smuag attacked and her family was killed, she was forced to flee from her home and status to work alone in a run down pub. Now, her fantasies of returning didn’t seem so fruitless.
“I’m coming with you,” she said, untying her apron and draping it over an empty chair.
Fili floated at the thought. He had been dreading leaving her, not knowing when he’d see her again. Now, she could come with him and live in the mountain, and if he could finally muster up the courage to ask her...
His thoughts screeched to a halt. “(Y/N), it’s too dangerous. Smaug still has the mountain, there are orcs practically waiting for us to return and Mahal knows what else has infiltrated since we left.” He laced his fingers in hers with a shaky breath. “I’ll come back for you as soon as it’s safe. I swear to you.”
She smiled at his touch, but it fell into a smirk. “Fili, I can take care of myself. I survived Smaug once, I can do it again. Let me come with you.”
“A dam fighting a dragon? I don’t think so,” Dwalin said from his seat at the table.
She spun to glare at him.
“(Y/N), I know you love our home as fiercely as we do, but I won’t risk your life. We’ll have enough to worry about protecting ourselves,” Thorin said.
She rolled her eyes at their words and groaned lowly at the drunken human screaming her name once more. With a huff, she pulled a intricately decorated dagger from inside her trousers and threw it with accurate strength. Though she took no time to aim, the weapon reached its target, taking the hat off the man’s head and rooting it to a wooden pillar just behind him.
“Where were you even keeping that?” Kili cried.
Fili’s wide eyes betrayed his attempted composure. (Y/N) breathed out a laugh before she heard Dwalin speak again.
“A lucky shot doesn’t mean you’ll be joining us, lass,” he said.
Her eyes locked on Fili’s and he felt her gentle fingers at his waist. He was frozen in his place when her other arm wrapped around his back and her nose brushed softly against his. Then, too quickly for his taste, she retreated from him to fire both of his daggers at the pillar with one swift motion.
Only when she tilted her head to the side, did he regretfully tear his gaze from her to see the three weapons sticking out from the wood, making a perfect triangle. He swallowed hard and shuffled his feet, feeling his blood rush south. Was there anything she couldn’t do?
“Alright, she’s coming,” Dwalin mumbled.
She smiled fully now at Fili and stepped away to create some space between them. His thoughts whirred in his mind before finally landing on a question. “Are you sure? It’s going to be dangerous.”
She watched as her fingers tangled in his. “When will you understand? I’ll follow you anywhere.”
