Enemies to lovers is about someone who has significant reason to hurt you but… actively chooses not to: It’s comforting.
The more it personally costs them to have you the more you know they want you: It’s flattering.
They lower their defenses understanding that you could truly harm them yet they have faith in you: It’s affirming.
Enemies pay attention to you in a way strangers, friends, and allies never do. Hyper aware of your motives, your skills, your every move for potential threats. But even with the intensive scrutiny we are judged worthy of their loyalty and vulnerability and love: It’s absolving.

ANYWAYS i want to elaborate on sireswap apo/pyro backstories cause i havent really developed them since my initial sireswap post? i recommend you read the world building post before this (if you havent already)!!
pyro!!! so i established in the in the first post he is a record keeper. pyro does whatever he needs to do in order to accurately record historical events. because of this he is verrry well travelled. he has been all over the world.
pyros upbringing isnt super important to his sireswap narrative. but he would still be from a wealthy family (parallel cv!scott).
obviously though, pyro has to ditch his birth identity once he stays 22 for a little bit too long.
as a scholar in the medieval age the only way pyro can effectively do his job is to worm his way into high places. probably as a scribe of some kind?
iii like this cause it really keeps up with the ideas of authority in pyros character? being subservient to kings and queens as a tool for his own motives.
i honestly just need to talk about the whole authority thing because you cannot have jack von pyroscythe without having a weird thing about whos in charge.
my idea for pyros authority deal is to make it contradictory (again playing into elements of cv!pyro). pyro has strong feelings about the vampire hierarchy, but could care less about human dynamics. despite this...
sireswap pyro is more than willing to be bossed around by the town members if it helps keep him in the position he wants. people always overlook the nobody scholars the invisible scribe or the faceless servant. being pathetic and lame is literally a tactic this time. (smth smth both sireswap apo and pyro viewing humans as discardable)
howeverrr... pyro actually values the vampire hierarchy! i want to say though. that he doesnt follow a typical interpretation of it (because honestly... i cant ever see any version of pyro just bossing people using the age card).
i want to say that pyro values the vampire hierarchy in the sense that it gives life structure. vampires are solitary and territorial so the hierarchy stops meaningless fighting. pyro is a historian and sociologist who thinks things through in patterns and logic
but to play into their contradictory aspects as a character. the way they interact with the hierarchy more emotional rather than logical. pyro fawns of scott because of instincts. pyro goes to help his grand-fledgling (cleo) because his heartstrings are being tugged at. pyro pulls the age card over apo once when hes blinded by rage after scott dies in week 6.
cause yeah. pyro is an emotionally driven character over a rationally driven one. this is why pyro is so distant from the other characters in sireswap. if they get emotionally invested everything falls apart
i NEED sireswap pyro to seem nonchalant (like cv!scott) but actually be the hottest mess.
last pyro note. real quick! their turning, in order to parallel cv!scott, was fully consensual. more details will come on that one though… i have to rotate a few thoughts
OKAY apo time sorry. had to let my pyro bias shine for a moment
apo and cherri are married in sireswap!! hashtag love wins. they would have met in their early 20s and had been dating when they were both turned.
the coven apo was a part of (pre sireswap canon) focuses on combating other magical threats. they see vampires as the superior form of being. as we know from avid being turned in canon (this post is being written pre ep6. if something crazy happens i did NOT KNOW) vampirism cancels out other magical conditions. from that thought…
cherri! was a magic user of some kind before being turned (was considering the nonhuman route but i dont wanna bullshit more lore than i have to). because cherri is a human magic user, she is seen as a threat she has to be dealt with. the turning neutralized her spiritual magic, but previous experience leaves cherri very savvy with vampiric magics
instead of just killing her though, shes turned. she can be useful to the coven (considering many of there magic users were gone. post 400 years ago oakhurst massacre)
apo learns of this. but apo loves cherri and doesnt want to lose her. apo begs to be turned so both so cherri wont have to suffer alone! vampire yuri kind of winning rn...
apo has conflicted feelings about the coven. on the one hand they are happy they get to spend an eternity with the person they love most. on the other hand apo is only here because of cherri. apo doesnt care about anyone there but cherri. apo partially despises the coven because they forced cherri to turn or die (something something cherri and cv!apo parallels).
the vampire coven is composed of witches. apo is bad at magic. so instead apo trains to be physically strong.
bad news though! apo is not allowed to be happy. eventually there is a fight between cherri and a senior member of the coven. cherri is attacked and apo retaliates. physically overpowering, then staking the senior member to death.
because of that action, apo is ousted and told never to return. all apo wants is to be with cherri again… taking time to grieve, she retreats to the one place she knows the coven wont follow, the ruins of oakhurst!!
i would also like to talk about apos feelings on vampirism real quick!! just because. i think some of her sireswap backstory might lead an interpretation im not leaning towards? apo was turned consensually by cherri. it was fully apos choice to turn. however, apo does dislike many aspects of vampirism. but she did it FOR cherri!! apo views vampirism as something that, inevitably, you have to accept. even if you hate it at the start.
also thought thats NOT attached to this post as much but i wanted to share: i had the horrible realization this morning that. the beacons were made between 200 years ago and the present in vampires. sigh. bad assumption made based on owens supposed familiarity with them.
so my sireswap timeline is completely wrong compared to canon… (iiiii dont care though. ive said beacons 400 years ago. the beacons STAY at 400 years ago in sireswap.)
The fact that Mizi transformed from a ‘human’ to an ‘idol’ is what drove her and Sua apart. So when Mizi turned from an ‘idol’ into a ‘zombie’ Sua followed. And after ‘death’ they finally could preform on the same stage, just like they always dreamed.
