Sleeping is kind of a grab bag for you at this point. A grab bag filled with various kinds of poisoned spikes and razor blades.

But there’s also some teddy bears in the mix, which is what makes the whole thing worthwhile. That is, so long as the teddy bears aren’t actually decoys, containing more poisonous spikes. Sometimes they are. Those days are fun.

Today, when you fall asleep, you wake in a place you don’t recognize. That’s usually a good sign. It doesn’t have the hallmarks of a dream you can’t control - at least, not yet. When you move, you’re able to move freely, and you walk in a circle a moment to test this.

Seems... pretty safe.

The landscape before you is a grassy plain. It’s raining. The clouds overhead are dark gray and heavy, but the air is clear and crisp, not suffocating. Trees are few and far between - a noise makes you turn, and you see... What?

A herd of unicorns? (Unicorn? Unicornii? Unicornuses?)

You squint, making your way closer to them to try to figure it out, and... yes, those are definitely unicorns. They come in a variety of colorings - you think you see a neon teal pinto among them - with rainbow manes and tails, and silvery horns that gleam in the low light.

Among them is a troll. ... Could this be their dream bubble?

“Hey!” You try to get his attention from across the distance between you, deeming it probably unsafe to approach the herd of technicolor equines. Waving probably works. “Are the beasts friend or foe?!”
