Would you like to know that bats are considered the symbol for happiness in Chinese? Something about how they're pronounced similarly I think.

And you are correct! I found that it’s because the Chinese word for “bat” (fu 蝠) sounds exactly the same as the word for “good fortune” (also fu but spelled 福)Thanks Google lol
So I guess bats are good luck in China! Which is super cute and actually lifts my mood to know! :D
Also the fact that “Floof” sounds kinda like “Fu” is as amusing as it is coincidental. xD
Doodled together a reference sheet of my floofy little bat monster sona. Specifically to demonstrate how the wings work.
Floofbats are magic, you see. The wings are particularly magical. When in active use, the wings follow the normal bat finger structure. When not in use, they just sort of hang loose at the wrists.
Conveniently, they’re only as corporeal as they need to be. Meaning if the floofbat wishes to wear clothes, the wings will simply “clip through” them, continuing to function just as they would when naked.

You may or may not have noticed that I haven’t been posting very much (or anything at all) for the last several months.
The reason is I’ve been taking a break from art after suffering a pretty bad case of burnout.
I’m still not completely recovered, as stressful real life circumstances have completely prevented me from getting any relaxation all summer. HOWEVER, I feel I’m recovered enough to slowly start trickling some art here and there.
I’m still doing art for @maniaknight‘s @underfellfangame, so those of you who follow me for that content can still expect that from me. It’s just not gonna be as quick or constant as it was. Especially with things in my life in the state it’s in right now.
The aforementioned real life circumstances going on right now have me really stressed out at the moment, and I might make a post about it later, but for now just know I got some stuff going on and it’s occupying a good majority of my brain energy. So content from me is going to be slow going until that’s resolved.
Which hopefully will be soon! ...hopefully.
That said, I would like to extend a huge thanks to those of you who still follow me despite my flightiness and terrible communication skills.
Hopefully I’ll still be able to churn out content that you’ll enjoy.
