Enjoy these gourmet blue cheese burgers with a whiskey glaze, a new take on an old favorite. When you mix sour blue cheese, sweet whiskey glaze, and salty beef, you get a flavor explosion that will blow your mind.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 4 burger buns. 1/4 cup whiskey. 2 tbsp brown sugar. 1/4 cup blue cheese crumbles. 1/4 cup mayonnaise. 2 tbsp Dijon mustard. 1 cup shredded lettuce. 1 tomato, sliced. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Whiskey and brown sugar should be mixed in a small saucepan. It will take about 5 minutes of cooking at a low to medium heat until the liquid is cut in half. Leave to cool. Warm the grill up to a medium-high level. Make 4 patties out of the ground beef that are all the same size. Add pepper and salt. Grill burgers for four to five minutes on each side, or until they're done the way you like them. In the last minute of grilling, sprinkle blue cheese crumbles on top of each burger to make them melt a little. On the grill, toast the burger buns for one to two minutes, until they are quite golden. Put mayonnaise and Dijon mustard in a small bowl and mix them together. Spread the mayo-mustard mix on the bottom half of each bun before putting the burgers together. Put lettuce, tomato slices, a whiskey-glazed burger patty, and the top bun on top. Serve right away and enjoy!
