One amazing independent bottling. The #clynelish 1995 aged for 20 years is right up there with the best whiskies in the world without the high price tag. Notes start with ginger spice with raisin sweetness rounds out the nosing. The palate is full caramel chocolate, ginger and passing peat notes. And did I mention this is a cask strength! #whiskywednesday with Macallan #granreserva aged for 12 years. Dried fruits early on the nosing slowly gives way to toffee. Fruitiness in the form of raisins continue to the palate as its met by touch of zestiness before delicate oak notes take hold of the palate continuing into the finish. Great whisky, worth trying at your local whisky bar. Not sure it's worth the secondary market price though. The Spaniard by #compassbox is a blended whisky by name yet behaves very much like a single malt. Aged predominantly in sherry and Spanish wine casks it imparts beautiful dark fruit sweetness with clove spice providing balance. The red wine and sherry notes really shine through here. Worth every penny tin my opinion. Have you t tried this?
