Honestly, I’ve been sitting on this sketch for ages, but your birthday gave me the perfect little push to finally finish it! ✨ It's my first time drawing Bellara, too, and I think I did well; I was a teensy bit nervous ‘cause I might’ve goofed up their tattoos-, but their expressions turned out so cute that I just had to share. Hope you love it! 💖

But how did you think it was the first time Lucanis thought about kissing Ghilasara? ;

In the true Lucanisara fashion it has to happen in some at least a bit stupid and weird way.

I've actually pondered that question before, and my current vision is that it happens somewhere in the field after a battle when Lucanis notices that she has a bit of (somebody else's) blood in the corner of her mouth, and he kinda catches himself staring at it. And then he eventually realises that he's staring not just at the blood specks, but at her lips, and the blood is very much secondary to why he wants to look at her in the first place. The real reason are his Feelings and Desires, but right now can't possibly be the right time to have them (is there such a thing as the right time for him to want something? is he allowed to want?)

In case you are wondering, there absolutely would not be a sensual moment where he cleans the blood off her and they both feel some kind of way about it. At best, if she noticed him staring and asked what's wrong, he'd chicken out, blurt out she has blood on her face and turn away, leaving whoever's with them in the party to deal with that instead (idk who I see there the most, but Neve would be nice if only because she'd have the easiest time clocking what's going on)

🙇🏽 For the first time ask game, and since you mentioned that you are enjoying Davrin's romance (💙), the first time your Rook realized they thought of Davrin as more than a friend?

pinging @lordcaptains since she asked a similar question. I think they're tied enough that I can answer them together. Not doing this as a writing snippet, just as a Yap.

Attraction is not quite instant, but quick. Physical attraction that is — she has eyes after all. But I would say his confidence is probably what attracts her out of his personality and she's pretty open about that (I like that confidence), quickly followed by how competitive he is and even his duty and devotion to the Wardens, his determination. They're traits of his that show up pretty early on, I think. The competitive streak is definitely something: makes them very much a push and pull, back and forth sort of flirtation and that competitive streak is definitely something that carries through their relationship (the whole "not bad, Rook, for a Shadow Dragon" comment? That's him issuing a challenge to her and oh she will rise to that bait — and he'd expect nothing less.)

As for actual 'I think of him as more than a friend', it's probably unsurprising but that moment at Weisshaupt when he was going to kill Ghilan'nain's archdemon. Hissera was genuinely terrified that she was going to lose him. She's never felt that sort of terror before. And it didn't sink in until after the storm (so to speak) that 1. yes, this is a Grey Warden thing. It's an occupational hazard and she's going to have to reconcile with that and 2. maybe perhaps the reason she was so scared about it was because she thought of him as more than a friend.

Hi! For the questions about your ocs— for Hissera specifically, 8 and 16 👀

8. What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story? 

I'd probably say Hissera doesn't have a whole lot in common/relatable for me personally, at least if you compare her to my Inquisitor, for example, who I used to work through my autism diagnosis. But I do relate to literally doing anything else to avoid writing a dissertation, so that I guess? (Hissera was meant to be finishing up her final year of university and then she decided to go hunting Venatori instead as an impulsive sabbatical. Incredible.) Well, that and a bit of a strained relationship with her father, I guess, but those are for wildly different reasons.

16. What is something about your OC can make you cry? 

Again, compared to some of my other OCs, not a whole lot. She's too new still for me to fully torture her yet. Give me another six months or so, and I'm sure I'll find something.

7. your preferred writing fonts

I used to use Monsterrat for no particular reason other than I liked it. Then I read somewhere that fonts with serifs are better for spotting typos, so I switched to Merriweather :)

19. the most interesting topic you’ve researched for a fic

I mentioned one in this ask, but I also once had to google what kind of sex ed books for adults are sold in online marketplaces these days. It was extremely relevant to a joke.
