White trans people on here will list out their body insecurities and say " this has always been a part of white supremacy" or " is a white supremacist construct" and it's wild seeing any of the 12 Black people on here agree because it's makes it obvious the primary relationship that person has with their Blackness is dehumanisation. white trans people love calling everything that happens to Black women a form of transphobia so they don't have to think about racism or treat Black women as subjects of misogyny and to find a way to make it about themselves

The way people on here talk about Black women is so cartoonishly racist and ahistorical. One of my Black women mutuals was talking about people at work acting like she's bigger and stronger than she is and "acting like she's a gorilla", even though she's slim and shorter than all these people ( racism isn't about reality ) and a Black trans man commented he was so jealous. How is that your reaction to a Black woman being dehumanised ?

Some of you took that " Black women aren't treated like women" a bit too literally because when Black men or any man express " they aren't being treated like men" you understand it's about gender roles and not gender identity but Black women's suffering is very useful to you people

If you're a white LGBT+ who's racist and will harass, assault, belittle poc LGBT who came to have a good time in a community we should be accepted in....stay yo ass at home. Idc how gay/trans you are, if you can comprehend the oppression you face based on things you can't control, such as sexuality...then you shouldn't do it to other based on their skin color or ethnicity. I watched this video by this straight Caribbean man talking about dealing with his homophobia and becoming a better person etc etc and going out his way to learn and change ( he has a thick accent cause he grew up in the Caribbean )

And what is it about white LGBT people in the west that makes some so pathetic that I saw more than a few comments from people asking about " reclaiming " phrases and slurs this man spoke about that was used to degrade west Indian LGBT people? Why is that always the first place your mind goes? Why are some of you so extremely obsessed with your selves and the aesthetics of rebellion ? Cause I can't think of another reason why so many of you are obsessed with reclamation

He's literally said his life would be in danger as a straight man publicly defending Caribbean LGBT people and renouncing homophobia if he didn't live outside the Caribbean and your first pathetic little American thought is " can I use this slur ?" This is why I just don't take the people who are over emotional about being called queer seriously because some go beyond what " this is what best explains what I am" to how you can make shit about you and your wants

Does it not occur to these people to think about what existing as a LGBT person in the Caribbean is like first before self inserting about using homophobic language

As a black bi girl I have to be very catious about what the white lgbt side of tumblr thinks is “representation”. I have had many white lgbt people tell me this show or movie or book had black or brown characters in it and I used to get very excited. I love seeing myself and my people represented in other forms of media. But I realized something that I wish I realized sooner just because their lgbt white people are still gonna be white people.

I have had shows and books recommended to me we’re the black and brown characters are treated horribly, tortured, and killed trying to save their “innocent white bf/gf”. I have watched shows were there is a lgbt poc but only as a background/evil villian/ hypersexualized/ character who get killed off in the third episode. I have seen art depicting black and brown characters as over run with sexual lust for their non-poc significant other who then usually hits them and calls them “perverts”. I would advise every black and brown person to take recommendations of any form of lgbt media from white lgbt people with a grain of salt. It’s better to seek out black and brown lgbt blogs and see what they say about it. When I was younger I was fooled many times and it really shaped the way I see the white lgbt people.
