Yes, I am Mom to an amazing #mixedrace daughter who identifies as black. She is incredible, with a developed sense of social justice. That does not give me a pass. I’m was not instantly inoculated against #racism 20 years ago. - In fact, I must do more to examine my own bias, recognize how racist our world is, acknowledge the privilege I hold, as well as do the work to end racism. My other personal charges are around size acceptance and feminism- however these must both be seen and addressed through an intersectional lens with racism and white supremacy on top. - For other #whitemoms with #childrenofcolor - I’m happy to talk more.
