The clouds went away for the eclipse! Kathy and I were able to see the eclipse at Whitney TX today. I took hundreds of pictures as well as enjoyed the eclipse. Some of the local birds started their evening singing as things got darker. Some of my images are done through a light layer of clouds, but I got everything. Here are 20 images to enjoy.
Sun Spots - April 8, 2024 As I was looking over my pictures of the eclipse from yesterday, I noticed something on my before/after images of the sun. I took the before image at 10:21 am when I was testing my filters/camera. It was on and off cloudy after that and it was the best/clearest image so I kept it as my before image. The after image was taken at 3:01 pm immediately after the eclipse. In the third image, I put these two images together and added some arrows to point out the sun spots. The rotation of the sun and the travel of these massive storms on the surface of the sun is obvious in the five hours between the images. MWM
