Can you walk us through your Hayffie story? Like when you started shipping them, how everything started for you, your feelings towards how Hayffie is portrayed in the books and movies, your reaction to the movie kiss (!!! that's how the rabbit hole started for me XD, I walked on my sister watching the movie right when the kissed happened and BAM), you entering the fandom etc. Love all your story, so glad you're team Hayffie

I've read the book I think when I was in high school? Got them for Christmas and I read them back to back, it was after the 3rd come out but before the 1st movie I think. Possibly. I remember I already was a bit invested in hayffie but I also felt the story was complete everlark wise and I was more involved in other fandoms back then so I just didn't get involved in the fandom at all.

Then fast forward a couple of years Akachankami was really into hayffie... I'm honestly not sure how it happened anymore. I must have reread the book in english and then I wrote my first english story and I never stopped? I used to post a one shot a day if you can believe that.

As for my feelings about the movies, they're not astoundingly positive. I'm really glad they chose to make hayffie canon but the price we paid for that... Haymitch was reduced so much in favor of Coin giving Katniss pep talks, Effie was comic relief when she could have been given so much more depths... I love the way woody plays Haymitch though, the same way I love how liz plays Effie... They got the characters down to a T but the movies are not my favorite adaptation.

The hayffie kiss I refuse to believe at first and spent two hours cautioning everyone in the tag not to get excited until the movie was actually OUT and we could confirm the rumor... We had been burned before after all... Then someone I trusted in the fandom told me it was true and then I looooost my shit like everyone else did and spent the whole time in theater WAITING for the kiss I had already seen in poor quality on youtube because obviously I did XD

I will say that for all the flaws I find in the treatment of H and E in the movies, that kiss was perfect. I'm not surprised it was Woody's idea but the kiss was perfect. It's just so casual, so intimate... It doesn't hint at a new relationship but at an established one and what else could we want really?
