I'll admit to getting my hackles up in conversations about service animals and animals in public in general and it has nothing to do with actual service animals and everything to do with people who think they should be allowed to bring their pet (or occasionally farm animal) everywhere a service animal is allowed and are absolutely going to get someone killed but everyone I work with is too busy going "awww isn't it cuuuute" to notice.

Examples include:

The one who admitted she had no disability but put her dog through "service dog" training because she thought that would make us allow it in the grocery store

The one who brought a cat she told us she had found in the dumpster that week and hadn't brought to a vet yet and let it walk on the counters.

The one who brought a whole ass fucking rooster into the building and told my boss it "detected seizures" so she could stay (roosters are biologically incapable of doing this)

The the one who sat at the food court encouraging his puppy to bark for fries and then got defensive when my coworker who works with service animals asked him if he was ok because a service animal barking is usually a sign of someone needing help...but he kept doing it until he was out of fries

The hundreds of untrained purse dogs I see every week that people let sit in the kids seat of the shopping cart

the dog that used to come in frequently and takes multiple shits in the aisle every time and the owners would pretend they don't notice.

All but one of these have been allowed to stay and shop as long as they want because my managers are too scared of legal action even though none of these are protected under the law or our store policy (the only one that was actually asked to leave was the first one because the woman admitted she didn't have a disability)

Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure this is less a systemic problem and more a "this specific location of this specific grocery store" problem. Do NOT tell people in cottage country they cannot bring their pets somewhere, they WILL cut you up and feed you to said pet.

Me: as a trans person, I am very concerned about this anti-trans group leaving their card on my car. I'm relieved to hear it's been happening to other people because that means I wasn't being targetted but this is still very scary to me.

My cis coworkers: OMG haha isn't it sooooo annoying when people put their cards on your car. Do you think they're trying to figure out which cars belong to employees? I thought it was a ticket at first LOL. What a waste of paper.

I might have an infection so I had to go to my work to get antibiotics and every single person there told me that everything has gotten 1000x worse since I left. Including people who almost never complain.

Imagine you have 2 warehouse stores. Store A and Store B.

Store A is a lot busier than store B but store B has far better reviews. Customers are constantly saying how they love Store B more than Store A It's a frequent and common thing for customers to comment on how they drive 30 minutes or more out of their way to go to Store B just because they hate going to Store A so much.

Do you think a good idea

Would be to take 2 managers from Store A

And put them into 2 of the most important management roles in Store B

Right before a major new location opening so Store B expected to have record breaking numbers leading up to the grand opening in order to promote it?

Do you think that's a good idea that's going to make everyone happy?

Do you think that will bring success to the business?

Hey when one of your supervisors transfers departments and says it's directly because of things her previous department manager had said to her and another supervisor has to add a stipulation to their schedule saying they refuse to be alone with that same department manager, that's like, totally cool and normal and means that guy's doing a great job, right?

so like, a few months ago for "world water day" our workplace sustainability coordinator approached me (because I'm somewhat known for being good with computers) and asked if I could help her with using chatgpt to make some posters.

I said, "no" and also explained why it was a bad idea to use chatgpt to make posters especially for this specific day but offered to show her how to make them herself instead. Then I stayed late after I had clocked out to go home sick in order to give her a crash course on using canva and showed her exactly how to make the poster she wanted without AI.

she then generated a bunch in chatgpt anyways and when asked about it by other people she said she had no idea that AI consumed water. I was pissed but I didn't do anything about it.

other people did, though. People complained. Some anonymously, in reviews and emails, on comment cards. I wasn't behind any of it but she definitely thought I was based on how she has treated me since.

So I'm just saying, you might as well be a petty bitch and do the mean thing because people are going to assume you did it either way.

The posters weren't even good.
