Trying New Shade Walls . The big wind abated and I put my awning back out and added some shade walls I’ve had for a year but just haven’t used. They’re from @bundutecusa, where I got the awning, and attach with heavy duty hook and loop to the wide band on the perimeter of the awning. Each wall is just over ten foot long by seven feet tall. At this height, with the height of my Rhino Rack and awning, it allows me to flare out the walls and have more floor space than if the walls came straight down. . It’s a full moon autumn weekend in the Smokies; cold and frosty, but absolutely gorgeous out. . I hooked up my propane fire ring and tried a number of arrangements to see how close or not I could get it to the walls. I ended up quite pleased that I could have so much space under my awning protected by twenty feet of wall and contain a lot of the heat. . Swipe for another few images. . I plan on getting a few more shade walls so I can close in more of the awning expanse in both cold mountain weather or dry desert heat. . Not much I enjoy more than being out here tweaking my basecamp setup to see how efficient and comfortable I can make it without being so ultra time-consuming as to make it not worthwhile. .
