For the past 2 Months I've been leading a poetry workshop programme down at the White City Adventure playground youth club. These young people aged 11-14, really on the edges of our community but with so much energy, innovation and untapped talent. Some have unfortunately been stabbed during the programme, friends hospitalised and still in recovery. An area with gang warfare rife, with shootings and robbers happening around me as I travelled to and from the center tucked away between rival high rise estates. Nevertheless over the time we have spent, they have trusted me, worked with me, they have written as they claim 'more than they have ever written in school' they have performed on camera, held cameras and tomorrow is their final showcase! I will be revealing the Documentary I have been filming along the way and celebrating all they have accomplished with their family and friends!
