MCountdown Special MCs #Woogyu ♡
Who are you looking for from whsg to help you over Xmas??
Anyone with a DSLR who wants to give me hand with some shoots! I have someone for the wedding I’m doing and a family shoot, but if I can help you/someone else learn more about the photography business then give me a shout and I’m happy to help :)
I went to Venice with my former teachers to visit exhibitions and experience Venetian culture: it was lovely to revisit such a wonderful city.
Our first day was mainly travelling, so I didn't take many photographs, plus we were really tired from the flight and everything!!
On our first full day in Venice, we went on a boat tour, and got to visit the Murano glass factory and watch "The Master" make glass vases. I shot with my 50mm lens and I'm really pleased with the photos that came out - I ended up shooting about 700 photos because I just kept my camera on continuous! The lens also allowed me to shoot at a really high shutter speed (about 1/4000th sec) if I had a low apeture (most of the below images are about f 1.8), and I really like the effect the shallow depth of field has on the images.
We then travelled to the island of Burano, which is famed for it's brightly coloured houses. I shot these with a standard 18-55mm lens.
(We had lots and lots of coffees)
In the afternoon, we went to Piazzo San Marco to visit some museums - the museums weren't my kind of thing, so I got photographs of other things instead.
I finally saw the Bridge of Sighs while it wasn't under reconstruction and maintenance!
I also stumbled across a wedding photoshoot in the square and took a few photographs of that.
The next day, we went to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection; I love it there! I shot with my 50mm macro lens and my standard lens. It was a good opportunity to practice using manual controls with still life.
I also took a few photos from the riverside entrance of the museum.
That afternoon, we went to a mask making course, which was really interesting! I have a couple of portraits of the man who finished our masks off after we decorating them, and he was rather aptly called Leonardo. I used the same lens and settings as I did for the glass-blowing photographs, because it allowed me to have a fast shutter speed.
After that day, we travelled home, which wiped out most of the day. I really enjoyed myself and I'm pleased the the images I shot, but I'd love to go back again and shoot some more!
Bonus Group Photo
So this week I did a speech at my secondary school now that I've left about recovering from depression, and I'm so so proud of myself after getting so many messages thanking me and about how it's helped them and given them hope~~
