me all month: oh boy my birthday
me today: .... now what
with 6 days left in financial responsibility month, having gone through all my receipts and categorized everything in mint.com, i feel like i now have a way more accurate idea of how much money it actually takes me to live.
key findings:
1) i spent like 2/3 of what i thought i would on food. probably in part due to Actually Cooking and relying less on prepackaged microwaveable stuff (good!) and in part because i forget about eating food a lot (bad!)
2) the biggest not-strictly-essential spending category was “personal care,” or restocking on my anti-acne-face-wash-products + going to sephora the day before the client meeting. (like--i’m totally aware of how ridiculous this is btw-- the powder foundation i get is $52 on its own. i hadn’t bought it in a while since i was trying to find cheaper makeup-aisle-at-target-level alternatives, but oh my god EXPENSIVE MAKEUP LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER and it’s practically impossible to find anything for my skin tone and blah.)
3) the second biggest nonessential expense was “that time i went to the restaurant/bar with collegefriend.” alcohol is expensive bullshit wow.
4) so i should spend some time this weekend figuring out if there’s anything it’s cheaper to order in bulk online (like cat food, starbucks doubleshots, etc) since i still have my Accidental Amazon Prime Membership until august.
overall: yes i’m going to come in under my budgetary goal, but i also didn’t manage 40-hour work weeks. (closest was 37, blah). so yes the idea of moving to a place with higher rent is still frightening and idk what’s going to happen.
so I'm panicking because I have to catch a bus to tour an apartment in an hour and I don't have any written references, pay stubs, credit check papers with me, I haven't even kept my spending register up to date
and now every time I blow my nose my left eye fucking twitches out of the barking socket so I'm just kind of perpetually stuffy like
I'm fallin' apart here
I JUST WANT TO PLAY STAR WARS
I want to play sims...
I want to update GingerSnap...
...but I have to be an adult and dose these antibiotics.
*rolls over*
(One of my patients is 20 days old and managed to pull out her G tube. HOW?!?!?! You do not have that kind of strength!! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FEED YOU NOW?!?!?!)
*screeches*
*regrets everything*
I will never have to go to school on another Monday ever again and I'm trying to let that sink in.
