Tips for Young, Closeted Witches!

Before I found out my mother was also Wiccan I knew what it was like to be a young witch who is unable to be open about their practices for one reason or another (usually because of parents or school friends etc.) Here are some tips for young witches that I hope will be useful:

🍃 Crystals aren’t just for Witches! You can easily get hold of crystals from places completely unrelated to witchcraft. Online fossil and mineral shops are a great place to start.

🍃 If online isn’t an option, try to visit museums and other historical places with gift shops, I can guarantee there will be crystals for sale. (some of my favourites were from school trip visits to museums)

🍃 Tea! Herbal tea isn’t usually associated with witchcraft and you can pick up cheap herbal teas (peppermint, nettle, red berry, apple spice, camomile, you name it) from a local shop usually for a good price. There’s also green tea!

🍃 Linked with Herbal tea, if you want some herbs it’s simple. Tear open the tea bag! It may not be the same as the fresh herb/flower itself but it’s better than nothing.

🍃 Bathes are your best friends. You’ll probably find you already have shower gels and bubble bath with scents like “Sleep easy camomile and jasmine” or “Refreshing Sea Salt” Take a nice relaxing bath whenever you can to cleanse yourself (both physically and spiritually)

🍃 Want to do tarot readings but can’t get/not allowed a tarot deck? Simple. Get a pack of regular playing cards. There are plenty of sources online which can tell you the meaning of each card (Just type in ‘Playing card tarot meanings’ on google)

🍃 House plants are amazing for both Witches and Non witches! Try and ask your parents for a cute bonsai tree, succulent or cactus to take care of. No harm having a cute little house plant on the windowsill right?

🍃 Finally, have your thoughts and your beliefs. Remember that it’s not all about the crystals and stuff. Witchcraft is a practice of the mind and spirit. As long as you believe and focus your energies on your intentions BAM you’re a witch!

Para el 5 de agosto regresan las energías de “Habetrot”que pertenece a la corte de verano. Es una duende de la tierras bajas de Escocia y la patrona del hilado Se cree que una camisa tejida por ella constituye un remedio eficaz contra cualquier enfermedad. Cuando “Habetrot” aparece como la energía que determina un día nos indica que hay intervención del destino, la Rueda de la Fortuna se moverá. “Habetrot” nos prepara para los cambios de fortuna, de vida, de situación. Para hoy 15 de Julio tenemos las energías de “Herfest” que es la fiesta de la cosecha, en general anuncia cosas buenas puesto que marca la recolección de los frutos después de un arduo trabajo. Las casas se llenan de grano, caza y alimento recogido. Los celtas preparaban un festín, donde se reunían antes de la llegada de las oscuridades para dar gracias por los alimentos recolectados. Lo que hayamos recogido nos hará vivir un nuevo año mejor o peor, dependiendo de si la cosecha ha sido abundante o pobre. Sin embargo, ahora no es tiempo de preocupaciones, porque ya no hay vuelta atrás. Ahora es tiempo de celebraciones. Pero hoy salio al revés, por lo tanto nos indica que el trabajo se perdió, que no obtendremos resultado alguno y que debemos cuidarnos de cualquier tipo de especulación. Anuncia también malas noticias económicas, bancarota o el inicio de luchas por dinero perdido. Por lo tanto el día de hoy queda marcado por acontecimientos económicos desagradables o avisos de pago en los cuales estaremos vacilantes y con sentimientos generales de fracaso porque el cambio de fortuna se convertirá en un hecho. Lo más probable es que se presenten de súbito y de forma inesperada generando caos temporal.
