on bodies: theory and practice in three parts | chapt. I
When Elphaba’s tutoring session doesn’t quite go as planned, turns out practice is far more compelling than theory… especially when Fiyero takes over the teaching.
First chapter of my new Fiyeraba fic is up! I definitely learned my lesson from my first seres, so this time I wrote all the chapters in advance, and I will post them over the course of the following week, one chapter every three days.
you built a home in my heart long before you knew of my love

Galinda Upland is in love.
It's a sort of fickle thing.
See, Galinda (Glinda, she reminds herself, for even she forgets her new name sometimes) has a new… infatuation.
Yes, that’s the word. Not love. Love is sunlight and pink roses and fashion, love is compassion and gifts and happiness- not… not Elphaba.

birds by the snow
summary: glinda upland, phd candidate in sorcery studies, is writing her dissertation on some old, mysterious magic book called the grimmerie. the only issue is that she can’t read it. truthfully, she can’t even open it. no, in a dreadfully unfortunate twist of fate — a joke of destiny, the stars utterly misaligned — only elphaba thropp, the grumpified green librarian, can.
or: self-indulgent researcher/librarian au featuring musings on people who make things that are meant to last and also an enemies-to-lovers arc for wicked’s primary throuple — glinda, elphaba, and a magical ancient tome.

“Can I touch it?” she asks when Elphaba places the Grimmerie on the table. She swears it rattles when it leaves Elphaba’s hand, inching itself closer to her palms, but Elphaba doesn’t seem to notice, focused as she is on Glinda’s neck and her cheekbones and the part of her sternum that her dress exposes. Glinda’s aware of that out-of-place curl again, though she knows it’s too late now to fix it. “Are you wearing glitter?” “No,” Glinda lies. She is. A little. “No glitter on the ancient tomes, please,” Elphaba says, and she turns to her desk without saying goodbye.
chapter 11, aka the penultimate chapter of the roadtrip au! With a bag of dirt, the conclusion of the Get Glinda Upland to Eat a Vegetable saga, and a bit of poorly timed redecorating.
Elphaba would very much prefer not to believe in things like the Unnamed God or fate or chance. But when it comes to Glinda, she can’t blame anything but a higher power for the way she takes the stairs, two at a time, despite all the vows she’d made in the days prior to let herself fade away. It feels mythical almost — predetermined, if Frex were labeling it — the way Elphaba follows the mere sound of Glinda’s voice into the parking lot, despite everything that she knows will come next. As she steps out of apartment’s back door and squints into the streetlight, she tries to accept it — the inevitability of them. “Hi.”

the one with library sex!

“That day you found those students making out in the nonficulation section and got all grumpified, was it because of the books?” “What?” “The books,” Glinda says. “Were you worried about what the books might think?” They’re near enough to each other now that if Glinda stepped forward, Elphie would have to step back. And if Elphie stepped back, she’d hit the shelf, and there’d be nowhere else for her to go in the likely event that Glinda decided she wanted to be even closer. So, she does. She steps forward, and Elphie steps back, and the shelf shivers and steadies along with their breaths. “Would they be terribly scandalized, do you think?” “Well,” Elphaba reaches to push her glasses up, again, a tic that sparks heat between Glinda’s thighs. “It was the patrons, mostly, that I was worried about.” Glinda nods. “And so, if there weren’t any patrons,” she says. “Then—” “Then?”
birds by the snow: chapter 2
librarian au, chapter 2! enjoy 9,000 words of glinda musing about authorial intent, an absolutely bonkers break where glinda gets herself off at the mere thought of magic, and then another thousand words of musing.

“I know,” Glinda tries. She can’t smell Elphaba’s perfume anymore, just mustard and onion. “I didn’t intend—” She notices the Grimmerie still sitting in Elphaba’s arms, quivering. There’s something about its aura that feels accusing, which is really rather ungrateful. Ungrateful and petulant and rude and—and suddenly, she loathes this dreadful ancient magic tome even more because it has her sounding eerily like Momsie. Dear Oz. “What did you intend, Glinda? When you accosted me at my workplace and forced us to—” From the floor, Elphaba peers out over the balustrade to the reading room. She finishes the rest of her sentence in a whisper. “Nearly deface an ancient tome?”
