In this awful temperature, Glinda turns pink, a flush blooming over her cheeks and settling deep in her stomach where her breakfast should be sitting had Elphaba not been so focused on getting here early for the light. āI know, my sweet,ā Elphaba drops her crayon for a clock-tick, resting its cool edge on the paintingās cheek. āBut I told you not to wear all that.ā āPerhaps we should head back to the studio, then,ā she suggests, her voice thick in the summer heat, cloying.
