There had already been one murder of an innocent young girl in Medieval London and just last night a second murder of another young woman had been committed, done almost exactly the same way as the first and that had people talking. The whole town was abuzz with talk of how the two murders had to be linked together, perhaps the start of a deadly killing spree. Gossip spreads like wildfire when something like this happens and before long, news of the rumors reached the king of England, King Derek. 

A guard burst through the doors and into the throne room. The king was busy having a heated discussion with his only daughter Tesia, and by the looks of things it was not going in his favor. She shouted at him that she was 18 now and he could not force her to do anything she did not wish to do, and stormed off to her room, slamming the great doors shut behind her, forcing a resounding slam to echo through the throne room. The king released a frustrated growl and the guard apologized profusely but insisted he had urgent news. He began to relay the rumors and news of another killing to the king as Tesia made her way up to her room.

Tesia sat at her window, gazing out over the trees of the forest that made up the view from her bedroom window. She was muttering to herself about how unfair her father was being and how wrong he was to try and force her into a marriage she didn't want, no matter how wealthy the prince was or what it would mean for their kingdoms. She watched the trees until just before dark when she finally made her way downstairs for supper.

Supper went quietly as Tesia did not wish to start up another argument and her father was too weighed down with the news of another death to be bothered with arranging a marriage right now. After supper, Tesia threw on her travelling cloak over her gown and rushed outside and headed for the trees. 

She reached the treeline in just a matter of minutes and glanced behind her to make certain she wasn't being followed before she slipped inside the forest. She began to follow a familiar path deep into the forest, one that she often traveled when she needed to be alone. But this night would be very different from nights in the past. She had no idea that she was in no way alone in the woods that night, no idea that there was someone else lurking in the forest that night, someone who would change her life forever.
