Life is strange - few weeks after

Max screamed. A heavy and scary scream.

“Hey, Max...” Chloe said, holding Maxine in her arms in order to calm her down. “Was this a bad dream again?” She had a hoarse voice because it was three in the morning and Max woke her up as she always did for the past few weeks.

“I'm... I'm sorry Chloe I... Yes. It was a nightmare. Horrible one.” She answered, satting herself up straight.

“About it? Arcadia Bay?” Chloe asked, imitated her.

“About the town's people. Especially about Joyce and Warren.”

Chloe looked down after clearing her throat. “About my mother.”

“Yes, Chloe. I'm sorry I'm bringing this up again. I just feel heavy and... devastated.”

“Was it worth it, Max?” The blue hair girl asked, closing her eyes.

“I... In a selfish way, yes it was.”

“Am I really worth it? You let all these people die because you wanted me but I'm not sure I am worth it.”

“Chloe...” Max looked at her since always partner. “I did it because I loved you. Because I love you. If you would have been in my place you would have done the exact same thing. I know it.”

“I feel like it's all my fault. I pushed you using your powers. You didn't want to at first. I pushed you. They died because of me.”

“No, beautiful, it's not your fault. It's mine. I used it too much, I screwed up the timeline by myself. You didn't force me to do anything.” Max said, smiling a little bit and looking through Chloe's eyes. She had a hand on the blue hair girl's cheek, founding it softly.

“I was the fucking dick of the story. Firstly I was accusing Madsen but he was the nicest.Then I pushed you using your powers, rewinding time over and over again to find some clues about Rachel's disappearance, I stopped you from spending more time with Warren and you were always with me and couldn't be there for Kate who killed herself because she thought she was alone in this fight. And maybe... maybe it's even my fault Jefferson killed Rachel...” She started crying so hard and even Max had never seen her girlfriend like this before. She let her tears roll on her cheeks and put her hands on her face so that she could hide. Maxine hold her in her arms, as tight as she could and closed her eyes.

“I love you, Chloe. Of course I'm feeling guilty and sad about what happened but we gotta get trough this, okay? We have to move forward. And nothing is your fault, okay? It's...” She was thinking of a way to call it. Fate, destiny? “It's the stars'. Not ours. Okay?”

Chloe looked at her girlfriend and smiled a little bit. She noded and sighed. “Yeah. Okay.”

Maxine continued to hold Chloe thight and started playing with her colorful hair. “You remember what we said, right?” She said then, with a very heavy but low voice.

Chloe noded a little, breathing in Max's soft and delicate smell. “We are lasting forever.” She sat up straight and put her hands in Max's brown hair. She started kissing her with that little smile formed by her fine lips. A soft, gentle and passionate kiss.

“Yes we are.” Maxine answered in a sigh.
