14min wide field of Antares and the Rho Ophiuci Region / La Palma 2018 This is my very first try to photograph a celestial object with a telephoto lens. I had a crush on the Rho Ophiuci Region since I started to photograph the milkyway and nearby constellations. You can easily see the bright yellow star on the left - Antares - the heart of Scorpius (Qalbu l-ʿAqrab) - with a distance of 600 light-years or the Star Cluster M4 - which is approx 7200 light-years away. And of course the colourful dust and nebuleae around makes this region very famous and beautiful. In a few weeks I will return to la Palma and continue to photograph that region to add more exposure time for a better result. That’s the cool thing about deep-sky photography!
