Brought my pup home from the vet yesterday after a long but successful surgery. He had a mass removed from his mouth and we are currently awaiting lab results to determine whether or not it was cancerous. As you can tell from this picture he was high as a kite last night but has returned to his normal carefree, spirited self now. Can’t tell you how much I missed being away from him yesterday, even though it was “only” 11 hours. You know it’s love when every second apart feels like an eternity.

Happy 7th birthday to my sweet pup, my best friend, and my pillar of strength. I can’t even remember what my life was like before he entered it, and I can’t imagine how I would have made it through the past several years of heartbreak without his constant, unconditional love. I only hope the smiles on his face reflect the happiness and love that he felt while getting spoiled today.

Pup has a partially torn ACL and is under strict doctor’s orders to avoid jumping, running, and any other strenuous activity while we await surgery. Moved my mattress down to the ground since he would be miserable sleeping without me; my work space is now my “bed”, which is where we are spending most of our days. Can’t wait until the surgery and 6-8 week recovery are over and I have my old happy, hoppy, squirrel-chasing pup back. In the meantime, doing everything I can to make sure he is comfortable and happy. As with all parts of our lives, we are in this together.
